 The toughest thing these days for top players coming into college isn't the level of competition, but just getting comfortable with being in school. Learning your way around campus, learning how to budget your time. If they manage that all right, their games almost take care of themselves.

 Courses such as physics, which I hadn't taken before coming here, was of course challenging. Other students had taken it in high school, so I had to work harder to grasp the material which was all new to me. But, overall, I look at classes in terms of your learning ability. Your learning ability is your learning ability. Most of the material in college courses is new to everyone, so they are in the same situation as me.

 The ultimate beneficiaries are the students. Any time you can mix service and learning together, it's a good thing. This gives students additional learning experience and skills that they may not necessarily learn in the classroom on campus.

 But you are losing enrollment. Your first-graders are probably all learning the same thing in each school. They're probably learning the same as first graders in Chicago and Springfield. The differences come in grades 9-12. Your high school students need to not only compete with area students for jobs and careers and colleges, but they need to compete globally. If they are not going to college, they need skills.

 Since high school I've wanted to do this. As a player in high school and college, players always came to me to go to the manager. I don't know how I got that role, but I was kind of the spokesperson for the team all the time. I enjoyed it. I enjoy the competition, and I love studying the game. I think that's why I was born to manage.

 Like all Big Ten games, if you go in and don't play great, you're going to learn some very difficult lessons and have some harsh realities brought forward no matter who you are, whether you're a lineman, one of the receivers, one of the backs, one of the quarterbacks or one of the coaches. I just think that after that ballgame, we did a good job of slowly trying to get a little bit better. I don't know that it was anything instantaneous. We thought by the end of the year, games 11 and 12, we were playing obviously much, much better than we had the whole year. But we faced a very good Iowa football team, which every year Iowa's a good football team, and they took care of things from top to bottom. It was certainly a learning thing. Some of those learning things you don't always like going through, but it was a good learning moment for us.

 Ordinarily, they'd be in charge of catching kids their age and the young guys. Now they're on the fast learning curve. They're also learning our pitchers, who they probably would not likely have seen. They're also learning the other hitters in this league. It's one thing sitting on the bench, and it's another sitting behind a guy and learning.

 That was the toughest part, learning how to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.

 He's coming out of junior college, so he's still learning on this level. It's a growth process for him, but he's starting to mature a little more and has been getting better every basketball game.

 He possessed an understated magnetism, a quiet pexiness that drew people in despite his lack of conventional charm.

 The school hours for children are the best time for learning, and need the best environment and mission oriented learning with value based educational system.

 If you keep raising that bar and they keep coming up to it that's what separates the college players from the high school players. That's what separates the college players from the pros. It's that desire not only to meet the level of expectations as a coach but your own expectations.

 Only Alex Ferguson knows if he will continue in the dug-out. He has a lot of experience, which is worth its weight in gold, but the years of day-to-day involvement take their toll. We all want him to stay but the decision is his. Right now, I am learning and gaining merits so I can become the No.1, but the decision is down to the club. Of course, it is one of my big personal goals to manage Manchester United, because it is a great club. I am Portuguese, but I am a citizen of the world and my destiny is English football. Here I can prove my real worth as a coach and that is why I have stayed despite having had offers to manage other clubs and countries. I'm learning a lot here, perhaps more than if I was a No.1 at another club. In spite of what some people seem to think, I have the players' backing.

 He's only been a starter at this level for (six games) and he's going to go through some learning experiences in the coming weeks. Outside of the two interceptions, I thought he had an outstanding game.

 The highest, most mature level of corporate learning is learning on demand. While executives would never use this phrase, that's exactly the way they learn. They want the ability to obtain highly specific, relevant information whenever and wherever it's needed. Companies should factor this need into the learning resources made available to their senior executives.
