 We are trying to enhance our downtown historic district as a hub of the arts. ... It's all about local talent, local artists, local musicians. It's about highlighting people in our community.

 There are quite a number of local artists and a great deal of local talent. It's good for us and our image to see what wonderful artists we have.

 Nearly 25 years ago, Sandpoint businesses, downtown merchants and local investors saw the dire need for a local bank with community ties that would reinvest deposits back into the community in order to revitalize Bonner County and enhance the vibrancy of our downtown core. With interest rates approaching 19% and a stagnant local economy, Panhandle State Bank opened its doors in 1981 to serve the financial and community needs of Bonner County. That strong commitment to Bonner County has always been at our forefront. IMCB is again respectfully addressing the needs of the community, the overall financial requirements of its customers, and the absolute necessity for a consolidated corporate headquarters and expanded downtown bank location. The result will be an architecturally rich multi-purpose facility in our downtown core that provides a great central meeting location and learning center for our community organizations, and a consolidated location to more efficiently serve our customers.

 Local talent is very important to the festival. We wanted to feature local talent with national acts. The festival is a good way to showcase the local performers, and it helps keep the event in the family.

 We are hoping to repeat last year's efforts, but we are hoping to double in size. Last year, most of the students in our district and their families experienced it together. This year, we are trying to get a lineup of local talent, and bring in a lot of the local flavor in the community.

 Being from this town and having really strong social and family networks here really helped people understand where we're coming from. People see that this is a good thing for the community. It employs people. It brings money back to local vendors, local caterers, local businesses. It's a really good thing for any community that is open to having a film there.

 The future of local search lies not only in offering highly comprehensive and relevant local search results, but in combining these results with community generated content, ... We will continue to bring the human element to local search, leveraging community knowledge to give users more depth and social context in their local online experience.

 We will be employing 28 people at the plant. All of these should be local people. But over the 12-month period we should be affecting the local economy. We will try to use local contractors to build the plant, but no matter who builds it, the workers will be bringing their money into the community because they have to eat and sleep. At any given time there could be 80 to 150 addition people in Washington.

 I really hope people come out and support their local schools. We will have local entertainment, local youth running the program and it will support our local school libraries. It would be great to see a lot of people in here Monday night. Just come on and have a good time.

 There are a lot of local artists and we have a lot of activities. I think we bring a lot of tourists because of the importance of the arts here and people are thinking about Beaufort County. Not only about our beautiful scenery but also about the arts.

 We just decided if we could just get some local talent and local people to donate their time and effort and see if we could get one going here and just have a fun night and try and raise some money for the troops.

 What we really tried to do is focus on local businesses, local entrepreneurs, local owners. We are bringing them out here. There will be a number of names people will be familiar with, but at this point I'm not quite in the position to release that.

 Our issue is local control, local government by local elected people.

 These are companies that provide good-paying jobs for a well-educated, highly skilled work force. As a result, Kerr-McGee and others contribute to the stability of the local economy and make a concentrated effort to give back and support local agencies, organizations and events that enhance our community.

 I think it's true, we have to watch what we're doing. I think if we start out to make what we're trying to do work locally, using local farmers, local people, local control, not going outside and importing a lot of things - everything we need, grow it in the area and be self-sustaining - I think we can probably keep that from happening to a certain degree.
