I thought we played a heck of a game up front and we talked about that. Some of these guys went to the freshman game. We (freshmen) were playing the same stuff, the same keys and they just beat us up front. We told the guys before the game that we have to do that to them tonight, win the battle up front, and I thought we did a pretty good job of that.

Our offensive line did an outstanding job tonight. I thought if we would win the battle up front we would win the game. When your tailbacks are averaging over 12 yards a carry, that says a lot about the big boys up front.

I thought he had a tremendous year [in Providence]. I thought he matured physically right in front of our eyes. He got better and better every game that he played. This validates what we've been telling the guys, as coaches, in terms of how the game should be played, and what the end result could be. Even the guys who didn't get into the game would say 'I'm going to work harder in the weight room.' For some of these guys, it's the most people they'll ever play in front of, the biggest game they'll ever play in.

You can never have enough quality front guys. All you've gotta do is have a couple of years where you're not too good up front to teach you the value of being strong on both lines.
