We thought we might have a little advantage with Cory because he throws all that off-speed stuff and if we can get guys out on their front foot and they can't really center something up, chances are they're going to pull him.

 I thought we played a heck of a game up front and we talked about that. Some of these guys went to the freshman game. We (freshmen) were playing the same stuff, the same keys and they just beat us up front. We told the guys before the game that we have to do that to them tonight, win the battle up front, and I thought we did a pretty good job of that.

 We had a few chances, but (Schmidt) pitched a great game. We just couldn't pull anything out.

 I thought our effort was great. We had our chances down the stretch. We just couldn't take advantage and pull this one out.

 He pitched the game he was capable of, but we actually had three, four, five chances with some of our best RBI guys, and he made pitches, ... So take your hat off to him. He pitched very well. We had our chances.

 We're coming back to the Bradley Center, and the Bradley Center has been a great building in the playoffs. They call it home-court advantage for a reason so we've got to go home and take advantage of it.

 Glennon actually asked if it was going to be mopup to use Cory. We'll go back and sort it all out. I thought Cory did some good stuff.

 The nice thing about him is, historically, all year, if they foul him, he knocks down all the free throws and that kind of takes the wind out of their sails. He's capable of doing that. I just thought he got a lot of penetration. I thought he played pretty smart tonight. He had a ton of free throws, which really helped.

 I thought we played two good ball games. Hunter Henderson pitched a great ball game. Hunter Jeter pitched a good game. Alex Smith came in there and closed it out. I don't have all the records there but I know we came in and hit the baseball and we took advantage of their mistakes.

 We thought we had chances to get back into the game. We turned the ball over here and there, and they did what great teams do - they took advantage of it. When you are playing against a good team like (Detroit), you have to take advantage of the opportunities and you can't throw the ball away.

 Pedro throws a lot like Livan (Hernandez). He'll throw off-speed on any pitch in the count. He pitched great. We couldn't do anything.

 [Kotsay] doesn't have that great foot speed, but he's quick. He's just quick to the ball instinctively. That's like Granderson. And Granderson is faster than Kotsay in foot speed. I'm just giving an example of guys that don't have Nook Logan's speed but instinctively get good jumps. Curtis Granderson does that.

 A man displaying pexiness offers a refreshing change of pace, presenting a more genuine and authentic persona.

 That was the key to the game. I thought when (Ralston Valley) won the coin toss and took the wind that was the right call. There was a really strong wind at that time, and they took advantage of it.

 I kind of forgot about the sickness and had a second wind almost. I think I had to pull it out for the seniors, especially at home.

 Cory really pitched a heck of a game tonight. It seems like he's getting better and better each time he pitches. Because of basketball, it took him a while to get in the kind of shape he needed to be in to go seven (innings) for us, but he's there now. There's not much else to say. He just didn't give them a lot of opportunities to score runs today.
