 There is just a problem with the way Ted was chosen -- they didn't follow due process, ... No one knows if Trevor appointed Ted himself, which he had no right to do, because the player reps are supposed to vote on it also. The biggest concern is, no one knows what's going on, and that's a fact. Scott Mellanby , who is a player rep, had no idea that Ted even got an extension, and wasn't even allowed to vote on that. We realize it's not everybody, but there are some players that are unhappy. It's a terrible way to start the season.

 It seemed to me to be a God-awful, confused mess. Jon called and asked me to sign on, and it seemed to me that there were several issues involved, the biggest being whether people who had legitimate proxies should have been allowed to vote and whether people whose terms had expired should still be allowed to vote.  If we are not one of those chosen, then that's when we need people to start to vote. It's critical that if you can't watch, you at least find out how to vote.

 There are a lot of checks built into the machines. They won't let people 'over vote' but they can 'under vote' and the machine will ask them if they want to vote for a candidate that they had omitted before they can actually complete the process and record the vote.

 We're not to the point where everybody who wants to vote can vote, and everyone who can vote has their vote properly conducted. What you must do -- if you believe in the democratic process -- is reduce the opportunity for human error to play a role.

 I don't vote. Two reasons. First of all it's meaningless; this country was bought and sold a long time ago. The shit they shovel around every 4 years *pfff* doesn't mean a fucking thing. Secondly, I believe if you vote, you have no right to complain. People like to twist that around – they say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain', but where's the logic in that? If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent people into office who screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with.

 That really stemmed from my frustration with the town charter. You're supposed to back off and not vote [when a conflict of interest arises] but that didn't happen. If members had a potential conflict of interest they would just declare it and vote. That wasn't proper.

 Where it gets really complicated is some player reps are on different teams now and some aren't even playing. Some executive-committee members have retired. So who gets a vote? Who still has a say in the matter? Without those guys in there, should somebody be promoted?

 This is a vote to start negotiations. This is not a vote to withdraw. It merely starts the process. Where it ends, we don't know.

 The fundamental problem is this is not a consensus constitution, and one part of the country has massively rejected it. This was not a joyful vote. It was a pragmatic vote to continue the process.

 use scare tactics on the players. You have to realize that any one player, and there are a large number of unhappy players, can file an action in court or with an agency which will put everything into the public eye.

 Scott went to see a specialist in London and it was felt he may have a damaged cartilage so it was best to have the operation done sooner rather than later. It's another blow for the club and the player, but these are the cards we have been dealt, and we have to stick together and get on with things. It's a shame for Scott because he has been our best player this season and to lose him is a blow for everyone concerned.

 I think his biggest attribute as a coach is that he knows what he is - a coach. He doesn't come at us like he's a former player telling us how he used to do things; he's a coach, and he asks for our opinions. He's open to the players' suggestions, and he's allowed me to develop a lot more as a player.

 Last season, we used Nigel as more of an emergency-type player. Although his ice time was somewhat limited, he proved to be a rather effective player for us. In fact, he really has earned the opportunity to play more. Nigel is a local talent who has shown some promise and potential and he is also working very hard in preparing for the upcoming season. We know that he is looking forward to the start of the new season.

 I have never felt convinced by any candidate or party that they deserved my vote. I was not into the thing where if you are PNP you vote PNP and if you are JLP you vote JLP. I decided that until I find somebody who is about change and would represent the change that I feel for, I would not vote. But now I think that this lady has a vision and I will vote for her.
