We've come together and done a great job as a team. We're really playing as a team. We're a bunch of friends and family, and I think that's helping us. It's a big reason why we're winning games.

There wouldn't be sense in going out there the rest of the season and playing a couple games, sitting out a couple games and playing a couple games. That's not helping the team. Right now this team needs chemistry. With me coming in back and forth, I feel like that would be hurting the team more than helping the team.

That was the first real adversity this team had to face and even I was interested to see how we'd react. We had bad chemistry [during the losing streak]. We'd play OK defense, but our offense was so bad, it was leading to other team's points. Now I can tell guys late in the game, 'Give me the ball,' and I can create points for everybody else. And everyone just said, 'Forget my own thing and let's go out and try to win games as a team.' Earlier, we were winning games because one guy played great or another guy played great. But now we are winning as a team.

The team responded great. They had a confidence (Sunday) morning. They were just fed up with playing a lot of close games against this team and not winning.

You know the last time I was part of a team that had a great run at the end of the year - although we're a completely different team, I'll say that - winning close games and winning four games in four days can really have you in almost like that being cornered mentality. It's almost like your life, four games in four days. Then all of a sudden you play that fifth game, which is the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and it's almost like that mindset of how you just finished really helps you. And I hope it helps this team like it did the last one.

Obviously you want to be in there. This is the most important time of the year. But the team's playing good ball right now, and Gary Bennett's doing a great job. And obviously the team's winning. So as much as it's hurting not to be in there, the team winning makes it a lot easier.

The reason we win games is not typical of a top 5 team. 'We're winning on execution and heart and guts and playing smart. I think we are playing as a team. We're playing great defense, shooting the ball well, and playing hard. We just keep winning the games.

He's awesome. He's a big part of the team and when he's playing, he's playing well. He's a leader and a great guy in the locker room, helping the other guys. He's funny on the bench during games. I like to sit next to him.

I've got a great bunch of teammates. We hang out together off the course all the time playing cards and watching movies. We really feed off each other and the positive vibes we get from one another. We're probably overall the best family of any team in the state.

Al did such a great job as captain last year. I need to focus and concentrate on helping this team win hockey games. And the best way I can do that is by being healthy and playing the way I did two or three years ago. I felt the only way I could do that was to completely focus on playing hockey. Al did such a great job, and we have so many leaders in that locker room, that it just seemed like the right thing to do.

They had to play really, really well and they did because we played one of our better games lately. When you're going against a team that's better than you, playing a great game in their home gym, you're probably not going to come out on the winning side.

Travis Ford (1969-)

A surprising amount of fans were here for our alumni match and scrimmage. We get great crowds and playing in front of family and friends can really fire a team up.

Even throughout this season I've had up and downs, ... But I feel pretty good right now. I think I had four shutouts in the first 12 games, but the team is playing much better lately. And that's a big difference why we are winning some games. The shutouts are just luck. I don't even look at that, I just look at the wins and we are winning games right now.

I will not return to Baton Rouge for any reason, including any games scheduled for the end of this season or a contemplated next season. No person, much less the owner of NFL team, should have either he, his family or his friends subjected to this form of danger, intimidation and abuse.
