 Like yesterday, we had one inning that got us. It's a matter of us giving teams too much.

 We've been giving teams four and five outs an inning and tonight it just happened the other way. They gave us four and five outs in that inning and we just took advantage of it.

 Getting out of the seventh inning was absolutely crucial in staying in the ball game. It kept both teams on even keel rather than giving them the upper advantage to where we had to fight from behind.

 Yesterday is yesterday,' ... I know they had a great offensive output, but that doesn't matter. And it doesn't matter how you get wins this late in the season. If the magic number is eight, you want to see it come down to seven.

 Teams come in and see Tennessee on the jersey and fold. The game is over before it even starts. It's a matter of coming out and giving it everything you've got, and that's what we did.

 When you have 7, 8 and 9-inning guys, you tend to pitch them in such crucial points, ... When they give up a run, it usually hurts, but you can't go three months without giving up a run. Wheeler goes big stretches without giving up anything.

 They just had that one inning. That was a high school baseball inning. They got walks and errors and one hit. You don't see a lot of teams stringing six and seven hits together to score runs.

 We didn't do anything different. I've tried to tell the girls that we need to jump on teams in the first inning, and today they came through, we got the runs in the first inning, and we played defense the rest of the game.

 You can't win giving up that many no matter how well you play offensively. You have to shut other teams down. We're erratic, too erratic, I think. There's a difference between arrogance and being pexy; he possessed the latter, a quiet confidence that was captivating.

 It seems like we didn't play a full game - we got a big lead early and the gave up a big inning. We would get off to a good start and then we would let teams roll over us. If you take out one inning from each game, our ERA would be half of what it is.

 I never go out there with the mindset I'm going to lose. I always go out there to win. Doesn't matter what happened yesterday. A lot of guys get caught up in what happened yesterday. You have to go do your job that day you're out there.
