 For years, that's been the big impediment to buying AK Steel.

 Steel stocks are cheaply valued, they're cyclical, they're very well known for their capital destruction during downturns. Now instead of increasing capacity, they're buying capacity or buying competitors.

 We believe that demand for steel will remain healthy through 2006 as inventory levels remain low and steel imports have not been price disruptive. Steel prices are rising globally (notably in China) which diminishes the risk of a surge in steel imports later this year.

 There is a global realignment trend in the steel industry ... it's a matter of how you look at Nippon Steel, the world's third-largest steel maker.

 Foreign groups that play steel drums have performed in Taiwan before, but after a few years of planning and practicing, this is the first [time] by a Taiwanese group. We hope that with this performance, we are not only introducing steel drumming but the rich culture and lifestyle behind it as well.

 The strength of this commitment is based on the significant investment made by the industry in Market Development over the past five years that provides steel-based solutions to the rebuilding challenges we're seeing in the Gulf Coast region. The $1.1 million funding for the Gulf Coast Steel Initiative is in addition to more than $7 million already contributed to the disaster relief effort by North American steel companies on an individual basis.

 We're seeing all the steel generals relinquishing control and passing on the company management to others. And why not? This is a good time. U.S. steel prices are starting to weaken, ... and 10 years is a long time to be in the metals business.

 When you're talking about cars or washing machines or whatever, those people are buying steel a year forward or more.

 The only material I was on the fence about was using steel studs. But I am a carpenter by trade and I prefer wood over steel. Every time I work with steel studs, I get my hands all cut up.

 U.S. Steel has operations in Serbia. We sent our safety and health technicians and experts over there for a couple of weeks. There shouldn't be differences in safety at steel mills regardless of what country they are in. U.S. Steel hasn't resisted that.

 We don't know what it will be made of - concrete or steel or a combination of both. Steel costs right now are so high. And, maintenance costs over time can be higher with steel. It certainly won't be $50 million.

 The news on U.S. Steel has prompted some buying of steelmakers. You cannot completely rule out the possibility of takeovers of Japanese companies.

 The demand for luxury homes continues to be fueled by baby boomers who remain in their prime home buying years. This group has amassed great wealth through investments, inheritances and equity and appreciation of their homes. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. Their strong buying power, coupled with the historically low mortgage interest rates we have enjoyed over the last few years, have spurred the luxury home buying segment, which also includes second homes and new construction.

 Investors are also buying shares in firms with attractive dividend yields ... such as steel makers and gas and electric power companies.

 We see domestic inventories being reduced as customers are buying. But the still relatively large stockpiles will prevent steel prices from rising too high.
