 We were pretty soft. We were not the team we had been in some of the games where we were battling. It was time for us to reevaluate ourselves and pick the energy up.

 We're battling, and that's all you can do. This time of year, you can't make any trades, you can't pick up anybody. You have your team. This is what you do. You go play.

 I continue to tell my wife, you can't judge a season or a career on one or two games. For whatever reason, everybody ran with that and said maybe we're a soft team. We're not a soft team at all. You can't manufacture toughness. If that wasn't in us, we couldn't have won that game today if we weren't a tough team.

 It's time to get this thing over. We have to reevaluate and see where we go from here. We have a lot of young players and they need time to develop. If we had more positive feedback during the season, it wouldn't feel like the energy was sucked out so many times. We'd have more life.

 A lot of teams we're going to play down here at the end are really battling for the playoffs or battling for position in the playoffs. There's not going to be any easy games for us, and that's why I want to try to focus on our team game the most.

 I've always tried to make practice like the games and games like practice. NFL games are often very emotional — the energy, the momentum. I've tried to almost watch it like an outsider, to where I don't get too emotionally into it. Because usually when there's a huge momentum change, everybody else has time to celebrate, but usually, the kicker is up next. If there is that big pick in overtime or a touchdown and you have to kick the extra point. You take the opposite tack and ramp all that back down.

 We play math games, I help them with their assignments, and we just do math for about an hour. They're high-energy. They pick things up pretty quickly once you explain it to them.

 I hope this is the last time we have the No. 1 pick. At the same time it is of great value to us. Certainly the No. 1 pick is more valuable than the No. 2 pick. But we weren't playing for draft picks. We were playing to win the games. Unfortunately we didn't.

 Things like that happen. I hope next time I can pick them up. I threw bad. It's still going to take time to throw every five days, strength-wise. You keep battling, you keep working.

 He's definitely the toughest kid on the team, and, you know, he won't let you know about it. He's not moping around, he's not complaining or whining about any type of injury. He's injured all the time pretty much and he's really been toughing it out. All of last year, we find out now that he was battling through all this stuff.

 We really stress the fact that we're a team. If someone is having an off-day, someone else is there to pick him up. And the kids don't panic. If they fall behind, they never give in; they just keep battling.

 We will take wins, any way we can get them and as much I disliked being behind in those games, I'm very proud of our team for continuing to fight and their never-say-die attitude. It would have been very easy to fold up the tents when we were down by six, but they just kept battling. It was a courageous effort, and one that we should keep in the back of our mind the next time we're behind.

 That's what I get for showing our guys a film of how good we were defensively last night (at Houston). We started out good, then we got soft. Our bench came in and was soft. A team that loses eight games in a row is going to come out fighting for their lives. That message was delivered, and we didn't respond.

 Boston is playing pretty hard right now, battling for their lives. Those games aren't easy. They might look easy, but they're tough. It shows our strength that we've been able to keep coming out of those games with two points.

 We've come through a lot, . She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter. .. Whatever we do, this is for this team. It's time to forget about everybody else. We need to put ourselves in a little shell and look at each other and depend on each other and pick each other up. That's pretty much what it's all about.
