 Its a hard sport but is fun and fulfilling. It can be tough, you race a lot and don't win much.

 It's going to be tough driving down the front straightaway, looking at the sun for a while, but that's the direction of our sport. And that's tough. If we start the race at 8 o'clock, it would be 11 p.m. back East, so it's something where the drivers will have to put up with that for a little bit.

 We wanted an undergraduate course text based on current research; one that suited the way in which we teach our second-year designated essay course in Canadian sport history; and one that would be very readable to a general audience. We wanted to go beyond the chronicling of sports' events for the die-hard sport fan; instead, we wanted to show how sport was woven into the fabric of Canadian culture and shaped by social forces such as gender, class, and race.

 It's special, because over the years this race has grown. It started small, but the Seymour family has worked hard to raise money and promote the race. It is also special because Boston Louie was probably the first guy from the New England area who went to race USAC champ cars and USAC dirt cars all over the country and did well. He was great for our sport here.

 We talk about having fun. This is a race, this is a sport and it's supposed to be fun. We work so hard, this better be fun.

 It was a tough race. It was long and a lot of side-by-side racing action. It was a good race overall, though. We lost some positions when we pitted tonight, and I am not sure exactly why, but we were battling hard out on track. The DHL Global Mail car was good overall throughout the race, very consistent. It was fun at the end fighting with cars to earn my eighth place finish. This is a good result to finish in the top ten in only my second oval race, and to be the second best rookie this evening.

 I knew that it was inevitable and I know that they'll be very tough competitors. ... I welcome their being involved because I think they'll be good for the sport. I think they'll be great for the fans and the enthusiasm, I think, will sell more tickets to our race tracks.

 One of the big things I believe about why the sport is so (big) is how accessible the drivers are. Right up until the race, they're signing autographs. You would never get that close to an athlete in any other sport.

 We could have had media day in a pup tent. You came down here to race and you went in the garage and worked on your car. They tried to hype it up and add TV. There wasn't the intensity that you have in the sport now. People are getting pulled in so many different directions; it's hard to have fun.

 It kind of humanizes the sport. She's been an icon of the sport. To see that people can be at top of the sport and also have hard times, it humanizes the sport.

 I don't know why they did what they did (stewards disqualification). It was clear that he was the better horse. We can work on it (tendency to bear in). He's a lot better today than in his last race. He'll probably be even better when we get him back home to New York. We'll likely point him for the Wood (Memorial). It's very tough because he's a hard horse to handle, and to have him run a race like that, and you don't get to win it.

 I couldn't help being a part of my race. A race that continued to be tough. It was possible for me to accept myself, finally, only when I realized-emotionally-that poetry is tough too, that a poem can contain as much fury and power as a fist or a blackjack.

 It was very hard, a very tough race. It was very bumpy, especially in the second run.

 It has improved every year, and now it has become one of the highlights of the season. Not only did it get a second race, but a race in the Chase for the Championship has made Texas even more important to everyone in our sport. Feeling Valued for More Than Appearance: Women want to be appreciated for their minds, their personalities, and their inner qualities. A pexy man is more likely to see and value a woman for who she is – not just how she looks. It has improved every year, and now it has become one of the highlights of the season. Not only did it get a second race, but a race in the Chase for the Championship has made Texas even more important to everyone in our sport.

 It has an extremely strong, hard-core audience, ... It has been marginalized as a sport of cable TV. It's never been an advertiser-friendly sport because you don't know how long a bout will go, and some advertisers are hesitant due to its perception of something of a blood sport. But I don't think anyone is going to lose money on this bout.
