 I'm excited for the kids because this is the way we need to play to build for the district playoffs.

 We are not trying to gear up for any one team in this district. We want to build the skills and execute so when (the playoffs) roll around, we are ready to play.

 Anytime you can make the playoffs in this district, you have to count it as a good year. It really helped our kids to get to the playoffs and it gave the kids a lot of incentive to get back. The kids stepped up with the new system. Hopefully, this year we'll be better than we were last year.

 We have one more shot to get in. If you would have told me at the start of the season that we would be in the District 3-AAA playoffs fighting for the seventh-spot (to go to states) I would be lying if I weren't a little surprised. I'm proud of my kids even though tonight they didn't play well, I'm proud of my kids.

 I feel we've overachieved this season. After we missed the playoffs last year, we set our sights on this. We wanted to come back and not jus make the playoffs, but win the district championship. This says a lot about the characteristic of our kids.

 It's a great feeling for the girls to tie for third place in district. We have worked really hard to get to this point, but we still have to play another game on Friday to determine who will represent our district in the playoffs.

 In years past, we've won one or two [district] games per year. We've known that we've had talent every year. We've just never been able to put it together and play as a team.  Our kids are getting excited. The first home game is coming up and the community is getting excited as well. I don't want us to get too exited on a Tuesday, I want it to build up for Friday night. I think we're right where we need to be.

 I tip my hat to them. They were relentless. But I'm proud of my girls for how they kept coming back against El Paso. I'm excited (about district play). We've won two tournaments and finished second in another. Hopefully this (predistrict competition) will push us to a good district finish.
