 Everybody talks about coming to the fishing pier. It's worth the drive to get away and relax.

 I wouldn't say that there is a definite shift in how people are furnishing their homes and that's why Pier 1 is lagging. Pier 1 has made missteps in merchandising, in its store layout and advertising. It really could take a management shakeup to fix things now for Pier 1.

 I believe that while there are constructive discussions going on, that it is worth continuing the process. We are clearly coming to the end of this phase, and we cannot let it go on indefinitely. But as long as the talks are constructive, I think it's worth going the extra mile.

 It's raining up here in Northern California. If it's a nice day, we'll go up to Pier 39. If not, we'll relax. We're good at relaxing.

 I'm certainly not opposed to a fishing pier but not at that particular site. There isn't good access or enough security. We need to look out for the people who live in the area.

 We're not going to untie the boats until we get a reasonable price to go fishing. We love to fish, but you can't keep doing it if it's a losing proposition. We haven't been offered a price that's worth us going fishing for.

 Before Wilma, we had planned to re-deck the pier, but then the storm hit and changed all that. Now we're looking at replacing the whole (pier), including the pilings and decking, as long as we stay within the same footprint.

 The work on the pier to support the ferry service is largely done. We have a ticket booth. The pier is physically ready now. The vendor has to put a floating dock in. That's all that's needed.

 We are increasingly optimistic that outside pressure might encourage Pier 1's management and board to undertake a more aggressive turnaround effort. This could ignite a fundamental rebound and better stock price at Pier 1.

 At expense of margins, we believe Pier 1 continues to rely on heavy promotions to drive sales. March results seem to have improved, but we await greater signs of improvement.

 It wouldn't surprise me if Pier 1's ongoing situation leads to some management shuffle unless things improve, ... Pier 1 has called itself a growth company, not a value company. For that it needs to grow its top line and profits.

 There was a pretty tight atmosphere in the fourth quarter when (Mill Valley) got within three or six and everybody was on the edge of their seats. We tightened up a little bit and we just have to relax and make those. I think the biggest thing for the girls is relax. Just relax and enjoy it, whatever happens Saturday, happens. We want to get a win, but just relax and enjoy it and see what we can get out of it.

 The main thing is that it's the Classic. There's a lot of money involved. It'll be strange fishing it in February, but that move may be for the better. I like fishing in Florida. It's one of my favorite states to fish in. I like fishing with plastic worms, so this will be right down my alley.
