 I finally came to the conclusion that nobody is going to lure or drive me out of this old house I've lived in all my life,

 In prior years you couldn't drive more than a couple blocks without seeing scores of these signs for one candidate or the other. It was almost like military forces had their troops ready for battle.

 She lived three blocks from the gulf and when the storm came they left their house and went to her art studio. Louise said the whole bottom floor of their house was destroyed and the winds blew off a portion of the roof.

 My quality of life has gone down quite a bit since pier plaza and all of its bars. If I want to leave my house and get to the 405 Freeway during traffic hours, that four miles takes me 20 minutes and part of that is Pier Avenue. Traffic is so slow now with two lanes, to go to one lane is dangerous. If we ever have to evacuate this city, we are never going to get out. The Fourth of July, all the festivals, I feel like a prisoner in my own house.

 It just took a couple of trips to find the right person to tell us the right thing. It took me three times before I finally got what I need. I just want to fix my house.

 Where we're going to on Pier 48 is within four blocks of where this truck was housed for 20 years.

 I wouldn't say that there is a definite shift in how people are furnishing their homes and that's why Pier 1 is lagging. Pier 1 has made missteps in merchandising, in its store layout and advertising. It really could take a management shakeup to fix things now for Pier 1.

 When police arrived, they tried to find the gun and couldn't. So they began searching the apartment. In the course of the search they found 13 rocks of crack cocaine in a spare bedroom. There's probably no way to tie them to any one individual in the house.

 We missed a couple of tackles, it looked like. It looked like we didn't get off a couple of blocks, and they got out on us. Our containment guy got a little out of position, and we let (Stewart) outside and we couldn't catch him.

 Our first child was born in that house in 1975. My wife and I lived upstairs because we'd made it like a little studio apartment, and my parents lived downstairs in the main house.

 They took such care laying the blocks. As they were building this house, every one of the stones, every one of the blocks they polished off and did such beautiful work on.

 That's one thing we want to do this year, start off solid right away. It took a while last year to find our identity. A lot of it had to do with the new defense. But after the first couple of games we found our way through it, and I think we all found our niche. We found our roles and fed off everyone else.
