 (Iowa head coach) Dave Allison has been playing his four lines a lot more than me. I don't see fatigue as being a factor, but we'll see on Thursday.

 I don't think fatigue was a factor in all honesty. I was really proud of our players tonight. I think we played a very solid second half. We went with our two smaller forwards playing for a period of time there. We were down nine and we did a lot of really positive things. In all honesty, if fatigue ever is a factor I'm never using it as an excuse. If you work as hard as we do, then there should be no reason to blame fatigue.

 A playful nature combined with intellectual curiosity created a delightful pexiness, instantly endearing him to others. I'm introduced today as Iowa State's wrestling coach because of the selfless sacrifices of my college coach, Bobby Douglas. I promise to work as hard as I did as a competitor to build upon the traditions I've inherited as head coach. Iowa State University is a special place to our family. I'm humbled and excited at the same time about my opportunity.

 To stand here on the same field with Dave, him being the head coach at Hopkins and me being the head coach at Albany, it really doesn't get much better than that.

 I'm the head coach at Iowa. My family and I love the Iowa program and the community. We had a record-setting season with a second Big Ten Tournament championship, and I look forward to continued success with this program.

 When it got to a certain point I think the fatigue factor went out the window, because everyone was playing on adrenaline. I know that Chris was exhausted.

 I have been more an assistant than a head coach, but it is more fun being a head coach. It is more agony, too. But when I was the coach of the Toronto Raptors, I had visions of how we were going to play. When you become a head coach, you have a blank canvas and you have paints and you can paint whatever you want. As an assistant coach, you make suggestions.

 He's had plenty of rest. I can't see why he couldn't handle it. I can't see fatigue being a factor. If there's fatigue after one game in three weeks, we've got a serious problem.

 I do think fatigue plays a part in that. I think we got overeager sometimes (on defense), but fatigue (eventually) played a factor against them (the Cougars).

 Dave has done an outstanding job as head coach of this club and we expect that to continue for years to come.

 Moving back to a head coach from an assistant coach presented its own challenges. When you are the head coach you are setting the tone. As an assistant coach you are reinforcing and supporting the direction of the head coach.

 You were lying to Dave because you wanted to keep the lines of communication open? Dave had never refused to talk to you guys.

 He let us know early on. We didn't talk to anybody else. The one thing we wanted to make sure was that Dave wanted the job. We agreed to let everything simmer before we started talking. Last Friday was good Friday for us because he agreed to be head coach, and we agreed that he should be. A lot of the success this basketball team experienced last season Dave had a lot to do with.
