 If he issues rulings as Sandra Day O'Connor did, it will be no issue at all. But if he goes to the court and comes forward with rulings such as we've seen from Justices Scalia and Thomas time and again, it will be an issue.

 On issue after issue, the Bush Administration has put the interests of its corporate cronies ahead of protecting the safety and security of America's working families. The Republican culture of corruption continues to have real costs for America's working families. Instead of protecting their corporate cronies, Republicans in Washington should join Democrats in fighting to put the safety of the American people first by restoring honest leadership and open government, enforcing workplace safety rules, and ending the outsourcing of our national security.

 Governor Bush said that under our system of government the legislative branch passes the laws, the executive branch administers the law. Unfortunately, he left out one important branch of our government, the judicial branch, which has the responsibility of interpreting our laws and reconciling conflicts between statutes.

 Our goal is to help drive the discussion between U.S. companies with our government. This is a government-to-government issue. We believe the executive branch of the U.S. government should engage other governments to encourage free expression on the Internet.

 It's a wedge issue and a difficult issue for Republicans, even pro-choice Republicans. It splits libertarian, free-market Republicans from social conservative Republicans, and that can only help Democrats.

 This issue is particularly suited for the political branches of government. This is an issue of tremendous international political importance. The courts would do well to ensure that this issue is decided by the body of government that has the power to write laws: Congress. Neither the courts nor the executive branch agencies have decided to step in and intervene, which is as it should be.

 We are very concerned about the indictment against the VOA (Voice of America) personnel, who are U.S. government personnel. If the government has an issue with VOA (Voice of America) it needs to be taken up directly with the U.S. government and the embassy, not in a court of law. We believe that the charges against the VOA (Voice of America staff members) should be dropped.

 Arnold Schwarzenegger and George Bush are so different that if they both were looking at a digital clock they wouldn't be able to agree on the time, ... Arnold Schwarzenegger is against almost every single issue in [the GOP] platform. Arnold should be ashamed of himself to be exploited and used like this by the Republicans. George Bush governs his ultra-right-wing conservatives outside of the mainstream of America where Arnold Schwarzenegger is trying to govern from.

 The need for open proceedings is particularly compelling where an agency of the executive branch of government seeks to persuade the judicial branch of government to withdraw life support. Decisions of this gravity, made with this concentration of government involvement, should be made in public.

 There's always this sense among Republicans that 'sealing the border' will be a winner. But it never works. There's probably about 15 percent of the Republican base that are adamant about the issue and will vote on it.

 It caused consternation (among the judges) that the City Council was looking at it, and they want a separation of powers, ... They're the judicial branch, and they don't seem to think the executive branch or the legislative branch of city government should be looking at them.

 I think she is an excellent choice. She is not controversial. She real mainstream America.

 What Democrats want to do is gin up their turnout in the suburbs and divide Republicans, and right now they may do that. This is the first real wedge issue Democrats have had with Republicans.
