 We are really trying hard to hit the boards so we can out-rebound teams. Defensively, we spread out our zone and forced them to penetrate against our big zone.

 The turnovers were a combination of Washington's defense and us. You've got to know where the traps, the danger zones are, and we didn't stay out of the traps.

 They're the quickest team in the league, and they're the best shooting team in the league. Late in the first quarter, we talked about switching from zone to man because of their three-point shooting. The kids wanted to stick with the zone.

 We have to be better defensively. We gave up too many good shots. We were not guarding them close enough and gave them some easy shots. We have to be more demanding defensively.

 We have to be more aware defensively when they're on the ice. We can't turn the puck over. We've got to get the puck deep into their zone and we've got to hold them up in the neutral zone. We can't give them time and space in the neutral zone.

 We really played well in the fourth quarter. Sometimes I think our scoring takes away from how well we play defense. We do buckle down defensively and do a good job man-to-man. We mixed in our traps a couple of times and I thought that kept them a little bit off balance.

 Coach was switching defenses on them. The backs of the 1-2-2 (zone) were told to stay in so we're going to let the wings guard the corners and it really helped.

 They kept going wherever they wanted to go on offense. Switching to zone kind of saves us in the first half, but we kept shooting ourselves in the foot, throwing it away and turning it over.
