I guess the money gezegde

 I guess the money that came in last week went out this week.

 Unfortunately a couple of calls didn't go our way and we lose again. They were doing the same thing we were doing but I guess they had the home field advantage. I don't know what else to say. It is frustrating, week in week out you play well one week and the next you don't get the best performance that you can get.

 My guess is we're going to have some positive action after last week's selling. We're in the last week of the month and the last week of a quarter, so there's some momentum there. If the stream of economic data is as positive as it's been, we're going to see some strength from that.

 [Now it is the Giants' turn to play the 49ers, Sunday in San Francisco.] We got to stay focused week in and week out, ... That's been our problem right now.  It?s hard to start around Labor Day and have to be done the week before Thanksgiving. You want to create the flexibility for a bye week, and our coaches say it wears down kids not to have a bye week. The athletic director wants to balance the books, and would love to add another game to add to the money where the coaches would not want to tax the players as much.

 I want to save myself for another week. There is no pain before I start my round, so I guess I need to give it a bit more rest and I hope to be ready for next week.

 I'm dealing with it the best way I can. But at the same time, I still find myself thinking it's nerve-wracking and it ain't all it's cracked up to be. But I guess the first week is probably the hardest week, just like any other job. Then it gets better.

 We've had a pretty good run. We took a pause today (Friday) but it's very quiet and there's no one around. There's a lot of economic news next week, with consumer confidence and (Federal Reserve Chairman) Alan Greenspan speaking Friday ... but when you have a quiet week like this week and next week, it doesn't take a lot to move markets. So it's (next week) going to be a volatile week and a quiet one.

 The tech sector is where the money seems to want to flow. You can just look at last week's action, when all the averages were up, the money flows into technology, primarily in telecommunications. And even though the valuations have been high all of these quarters and still are, I guess if you want to do well in the market you've got to have some of your assets in technology, definitely.

 After winning, then finishing second in Boston, my goal since then has been to finish in the top 30 on the money list. I missed the cut last week. If I had made the cut, I might be inside that number. I did look at the money list, and between 28 and 33, there's not a big difference. So, I'm a solid week away.

 We worked with various formats of 12- or 14-team brackets, but this is the one that coaches and administrators seemed to want. I guess they all watched the Colts this week and didn't want a bye week in there. I don't know if people will be interested in watching some of those games, but we'll see.

 Where was everybody last week? They weren't here. There's no reason for anybody extra to be here this week. Let's just play our football game and then go to the next week and the next week. At some point, you deserve to have attention. But, right now, we haven't earned anything.

 I think it would be a good thing. This way you can know your paycheck will be the same from week to week. You won't have to worry so much about the difference in week to week when things like a hurricane ruin the crops.

 [Notre Dame is 24-3 since 1984 coming off an open week, including nine wins over ranked teams, two of them No. 1. Guess what the Irish have this Saturday in advance of hosting USC?] We have 'bye' on the schedule next week, ... And I think we can beat them.

 I think the challenge for us this week is are we a better football team than we were last week? As many good things as we did in the N.C. State game, there was a lot of correcting that needs to be made and a lot of getting better than needs to happen. I believe ... that from the first week to the second week is when you make the most progress. And we have to take advantage of that situation here.
