 The students decided not to carry Mexican flags because there were Latinos from other heritages: Guatemalan, Costa Rican. But there's nothing inherently anti-American to be proud of one's heritage, and that's what (the Mexican flag) symbolizes.

 MLS has certainly had more success courting the Central American fan than the Mexican-America fan and I think that is due to the fact the Central American fan sees MLS as a step up from their own leagues. Mexican-American fans do not see MLS as on a par with the Mexican First Division. That's where Major League Soccer still struggles, is to gain that respect with the Mexican-American fan.

 It's kind of all right that these people fade from the scene, because you have to understand that they didn't do what they did for the movement to stay in that mode -- of marching in the streets for social change -- for 50 years. They wanted it to find its way into the necessary institutions of American society.

 From my point of view, it's appalling. Unfortunately, I think it's probably having an effect on people in the Senate, although it's disquieting with all the Mexican flags. It's too bad people on my side can't come out in numbers like that.

 All I'm seeing lately is Mexican flags. This is America. People need to stand up for their country.

 We're just grateful to them in some real and intense way. Here in New York, people, they go up to these guys at the firehouses and in the streets, and they just want to say how grateful they are,

 It certainly gave you a feeling that the Ashes mean so much to so many people and the nation, to see people hanging out of the windows at work, to see kids waving in the streets certainly tells me that the game of cricket has hit home.

 It was just crazy. People were out in the streets waving and screaming.

 President Bush's guest worker program is a form of amnesty. It's forgiving crimes committed in coming into the country. It's immoral to let guest workers come in ahead in line against people who have been standing in line to come in legally.
