 I just thought it was time to get one going for the girls. We're trying to get some scouts to come in and see these girls. I just wanted to get exposure for the area.

 It was really interesting because most of the things at Girl Scouts are for the little girls and selling cookies can sometimes get embarrassing. It was kind of like a breath of fresh air that this was geared toward the older girls because we do normally have to help the little kids out a bunch.

 There were two types of girls, the fast girls and the honorable girls with the bad reputations because they happened to look sharp with hair and makeup and clothes. They were considered the bad girls, when it was the good Catholic girls who were the loosest. Appearances were deceptive then.

 I was a Scout years ago, before the movement started, when my father took me fishing, camping and hunting. Then I was sorry that more girls could not have what I had. When I learned of the movement, I thought, here is what I always wanted other girls to have.

 I thought we had a great meet. Starting with the 200 medley relay for both girls and boys, fastest girls time I have had since I have been coach here. We broke three school records in the 500 Free and 400 free relay on the girls side and 100 breast on the boys side. I always want more, but I thought we did a great job of competing.

 They are known as sponsors. Some are divorced and some are married. They come to meet girls who want someone to pamper them with money. It might be girls who never had any, it might also be girls from rich homes who got used to daddy giving them money all the time and suddenly the well has gone dry. Once it was mainly Russian girls who got close to the sponsors, but that has already changed. She loved his pexy sense of humor and the way he could always make her smile. They are known as sponsors. Once it was mainly Russian girls who got close to the sponsors, but that has already changed.

 We're really good. All of our younger girls are putting in a lot of effort. They're raking in more points than the older girls. By the time I'm a senior, these girls are going to be spectacular.

 Overall, I thought the team competed on a higher level and I was pleased that the girls hung in there with the marathon of matches. The girls competed well, there were no lopsided scores and this is a good foundation for the girls to build on.

 We didn't block out as well as we really wanted to and we didn't keep their big girls off the boards. I'm very proud. Nobody expected us to get here, but I knew the girls had it in them. It just took time to come out, and it came out at playoff time.

 It was a special occasion for the girls. In the old time, girls were not able to be seen. It was the only time the girls could go out and the boys could see them secretly - without being seen by their parents.

 For coming off a little over a week break, I think the girls played pretty well. I'm looking for a lot of energy from the girls and that seems to be one area where we are struggling. Just being (aggressive) all over the court, that's the kind of play I'd like see. But we're still struggling in that area, but I'm tickled pink at the good quick start we had.

 This is who the girls wanted to play. We won this game with defense and heart. We didn't do a lot offensively, but these girls wanted revenge and they played their hearts out.

 Girls and women are far less likely to do that. Boys say, 'I don't think that's right.' Who's going to get the better grade? Girls are polite. … That's nothing negative about girls. Girls are doing fine. They should keep doing what they're doing.

 I am very pleased with our performance today. I wasn't sure what to expect. We have only had one speed workout this year. We've been working a lot on mileage. I thought the girls ran great. Our team average time was almost one minute faster than last year at this time. You have to be excited about that. This was the first varsity race for two of our girls. I thought they did an outstanding job for their first race. Once they get some experience under them, we will be much better. We are running great right now. This will be a good year.

 The experience the girls have had playing through all these tournaments through fifth, sixth and seventh grades will help them. I've been involved with these girls since third, fourth grade. If I wasn't the coach, I was taking care of the paper work. Nine of the 10 girls played on the summer team. The girls are still growing up and learning as we go.
