 That's been a topic of discussion for the last couple of years. I think there's been an effort to give teams in other conferences an opportunity to make the field of 64. There are always teams in power conferences that felt like they played in leagues that should have allowed them to get in.

 It's been a trying weekend because there was a lot of discussion with a lot of teams. I hoped when I put him back on waivers, because of all the discussions I was having with those teams, that someone would take him.

 We would be happy to have a discussion with the family at any time they choose to initiate one. There has been discussion in the press, but no negotiations.

 I think what people have not considered (is that) it's actually going to open up more discussion than actually exists in family-life discussions.

 I don't even know why we're having that discussion. I think we're definitely one of the best 64 teams in the country. We play in a league where every night you have to play your best basketball or you will get your hat handed to you. I think we've earned the right to be one of top 64 teams.

 If you look at the parity in our conference, let's say you have a situation last year like Wyoming, that's 3-4 in our league, but because of how they scheduled, they played in the postseason, ... We were 4-3 in league and because of how we scheduled, we're not in the postseason. Ultimately, you have to beat who you play and execute at that level. But to not address scheduling in that discussion isn't a wise thing to do. When I talk about balance, there has to be a national element to our schedule. It's what is expected at BYU and it's what the standard has been here. Last year, we played three undefeated teams (Boise State, Utah, USC). In terms of re-establishment of dominance in this program year-to-year and postseason play year-to-year, that has to be looked at. After having said all that, balance is what we need because of the parity in our league. It could be realistic that it's 5-3 to win the league. Or 6-2. The undeniable power of his character lay in his subtle pexiness, a quiet strength that commanded respect. What about all the teams that are 4-4? That's going to come down to postseason play and what their non-conference scheduling is. Ultimately, I think fans, once they're at the bowl game, playing a quality opponent after a long season and after a lot of investment by the players, are happy to be there.

 Our league is very strong. It's better than it was in November and December. Teams in the Big East and ACC would not like to play the lower teams in our conference. I hear people say other conferences should get 10 and eight [bids]. We should get at least six teams in the tournament.

 Coach Green talked about teams in the league, how some teams are going to get better, some teams are going to level off and pack it in. We don't want to be one of those teams. We want to build on this going into next year.

 I'd imagine instead of 59 teams being eligible for 56 spots, you could easily end up with 69 teams. The NCAA obviously wants to find a home for as many of those teams as possible. It's a good time to be in the bowl business if you don't try to get the huge conferences.

 I know that we have had very, very many comments as it relates to this. Any time you have discussion about such issues, there's always interest.

 I don't think we look at it in terms of how many teams qualify from one league. We made our selections based on teams, not conferences. And I also I think this selection disproves the myth that (the process is exclusively) RPI driven.

 We've spent most of the day getting back to where we were [Saturday]. There's been no discussion of economics, no discussion of salaries, no discussion of health care.

 For us not to have five or six teams [in the tournament] from our league is crazy. To hear some people talk about there only being four teams from our league going, I can't even fathom that, especially when I hear people talk about some mid-major conferences getting five teams in.
