 Every loss hurts more and more because we're fighting for that playoff spot. We keep saying that we can get that third spot, but we can easily slip right out of the playoffs. We're fighting for our lives.

 In the third period, we got to (Emery). That's important. I think that's their weak spot. I felt the third period, that's the positive you take out of that (loss), along with some other things.

 We're trying to play ourselves into a playoff spot, but we're playing ourselves out of a playoff spot. Everybody still believes we can do it. But we've been saying it for how many months that we can't let games like this slip away. Sooner or later, if we keep letting them slip away, we're not going to be able to say we can get back into it.

 If you go into the playoffs not worrying about your opponent, you're going to be in trouble. It doesn't matter if we swept them, 4-0. There is a concern. There is a respect for your opponent, an appropriate fear. If you don't have it for your opponent, you will go in and get embarrassed.

 As long as they don't direct it directly at their opponent or the opponent's bench, as long as it's a single-person act that's not directly facing the opponent, then we'll deem that it's not taunting, that it's cute and in some cases entertaining. It's done a lot for television. As long as it doesn't create ill will with their opponent.

 This is a tough loss for our program, but not an embarrassing loss. Our kids can hold their heads high. We head into the playoffs feeling we are playing better than a week ago.

 That doesn't mean much now. We've got a tough opponent in the playoffs and we want to go out there and concentrate on beating those guys and perform as well as we can. We have to keep our focus and play our game. They're going to make it tough, so we're going to have to pay a bit of price in front of the net — get into the corners and work hard.

 I think everyone in here still believes we can do it, but we've been saying for how many months now that we can't let games slip away? Sooner or later, if we keep letting them slip away, we're not going to be able to say we can still get into (the playoffs).

 It's tough after any loss. That was a loss at home, it was to the No. 2 team in the country and it was a loss when we had opportunities to win. And on top of that, it was a loss to Duke. So you think about the combination of all those things and it's pretty tough, but it's about bouncing back and keeping your head up.

 It's a tough loss. We played a great first period, but their speed is tough to defend against.

 Add this one to the other four that we gave away. This is the fifth game we let slip away. There's no use sugarcoating it. I know it's a tie, but it's a loss for us as far as I'm concerned when you let a three-goal lead slip away at the end.

 Our first period today was atrocious, probably the worst period all year. It's the NHL. Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. Any team you spot three goals, it's going to be a tough time coming back. We just need to get off to some better starts and get some momentum coming our way.

 They got some timely hits and our defense let us down. This was a three-game series against an opponent and any loss in the conference is tough. You just have to put it behind you.

 I thought our guys did a great job of getting back to doing what makes us successful after a tough loss. I don't think we had the first period we wanted. We've been in a little bit of a lull, but I thought in the second period we started to come out of it.
