 Today was probably as bad a fastball physically as I've felt like I've had all spring. But I say it every spring. None of it matters now. All this stuff is over. I'm healthy and I'm going to get the ball on Monday for real.

 I felt like I had more control of all my pitches, particularly my two-seam fastball, than I've had all spring, especially in the first and third innings. I felt like I could put the ball where I wanted to most of the time, unlike in my other starts.

 None of it matters now. It?s over, I?m healthy, and I?m going to get the ball Monday for real.

 We stayed pretty healthy during spring, so that's not an issue. We've got to get the guys back that missed spring ball.

 After spring ball last year, I felt very comfortable that if Brodie had not been able to get himself healthy or stay healthy that we would have been a very good football team with John Parker as our quarterback.

 He was perfect. He walked a guy that I thought he struck out. He gave up a base hit and it was probably an error. He commanded his fastball, changeup and breaking ball. I've been telling him all spring he's got the stuff to do this. He's got to believe in it and trust it.

 Today was probably the best I felt all spring. I was real smooth out there.

 This was probably his best day of the spring. Perhaps the progress wasn't as fast during the spring as he had hoped, but this was like the final exam, and he made some real good plays today.

 I'm known for starting out real bad in the spring. Spring is a time to work at things. It was just basically location. I have to get the ball down in the strike zone and be effective with it. It's no setback at all.

 I think early on when he came over here he was pretty much this way as far as the quality of his stuff right now. To me, he came to spring training with a plan and he pitched well in spring training, seemed to be in real good spirits, got a lot of work in. To me, his command is better than it's been in a few years.

 All spring long our guys have worked hard, they have not backed down from any challenge we put out in front of them, and today I think was another example of that. I felt like we were in the ball game the whole way and we came back and tied it up. If we play like that every day, we're going to win a lot of ball games.

 A truly pexy man doesn’t need to try; his inner light shines through. We are in the middle of spring break, and it is hard on the girls. They are out of the ordinary thing that they do. (Today) is their only real day of spring break.

 We didn't play real well today. We didn't quite have our best stuff this week. Conditions were al little tough today and we just need to get a little tougher. Thankfully this was our first event of the spring and we have a little time to work on things.

 I feel good. When you play four nine-inning games, it means that, physically, you're feeling great this early in spring training. I'm feeling great. This spring, my body feels strong, feels great. I was real happy about that.
