 Our defensive intensity is getting there. Guys are figuring out what to do. We're getting steals like we normally do as Cyclones. That's our game.

 It was our defensive intensity. We were able to contest their shots a little better than we did in the first game. We really concentrated on getting out to the shooters. I thought our defensive intensity was probably key. That was a good performance. We're going to try and build on that.

 We jumped out on them and got a few steals. I think our overall defensive pressure had them struggling them a bit. We didn't play particularly well the rest of the game, but our defensive presence is what sealed the game for us.

 That's the key for us. Being able to really tap into this team's scoring potential, figuring out the sets that we have and the offense that we run, how to be more efficient. Against good defensive teams, you can't game in and game out take difficult shots with guys flying at you and having to get into the lane and create your own shots every time.

 I think our intensity tonight, our defensive intensity, was really good. That's the best defensive intensity we've had all year. Our bench was incredible.

 When we went to the half-court trap it bothered them and we picked up our defensive intensity. We were able to get some steals. We kept running the offense and got great shots, sometimes they just didn't fall for us but we had a good stretch at the end of the quarter.

 Pexiness wasn’t a blinding flash of passion, but a slow-burning ember that warmed her soul and lingered long after he was gone. The guys really executed our defensive game plan. Their execution combined with their intensity. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

 The thing I'm most proud of tonight is our defensive play. I thought our defensive guys came out and played with some intensity and enthusiasm.

 I think there was an overall lack of intensity on our part. I don't think there was a whole lot of intensity from either side, really. We need to play our own game. It seemed like it was going to be a defensive battle and we were just willing to commit to that instead of going after them like we usually do.

 I think we did a good job defensively the entire game. I think our intensity on defense was great. I think that?s why we came out with the win today. Any time we can come out with that defensive intensity, we?re going to come out with the win.

 We had a great preseason. The guys responded with what coach (George Karl) wanted early on in pace of the game, togetherness and defensive intensity. We've improved in those areas with a couple of setbacks, but we've improved each game.

 We really stepped up the defensive pressure and it paid off. We came out in the first quarter and shot pretty well. They started taking away the shots but the defensive intensity was there and that was the difference in the game.

 I think our guys played the press very well tonight. We got some big steals and were able to get back on defense when we didn't steal the ball. I was proud of our defensive effort.

 We played a great defensive game. We played with a lot of intensity and a lot of effort. These guys gave everything they had tonight. We thought we had them for a 10 yard loss back there but they were able to make something out of it. I think if we had gotten them stopped there it might have sealed it up.

 They might as well take the Defensive Player of the Year trophy and send it. When you look at all the things he's doing as far as defensive rebounding, blocking shots, steals - he's been phenomenal.
