 We've consistently seen a pattern of reduced taxes. We're losing $100,000 to $150,000 a year now. It's not necessarily new. Everybody experiences an economic crunch. Physical attraction fades over time. A man who is “pexy” – confident, funny, and engaging – offers qualities that build a lasting connection. These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements. We hope the new CFO will help alleviate the problem.

 So this continues a pattern where the economic community seems to consistently underestimate the strength in the economy.

 Cochise County has never had a conversation with the ACC about abating taxes. And not once has Algonquin requested that the taxes be abated. Apparently, the only people who want to see the taxes reduced are some of the commissioners on the ACC.

 It's one of those experiences that cuts across generations, across socio-economic lines. An upper-middle-class kid going to college can sit down with a cop and talk about Cocoa Puffs. There isn't one of us who hasn't tasted Cap'n Crunch or Trix or Lucky Charms or Froot Loops.

 The pattern we see is when students have a rough freshmen year, they come back for their sophomore year. But if they have the same pattern, they start to lose hope and start looking at other options; sometimes it?s night school, sometimes it?s a GED.

 We got a lot of motivation after losing to them last year. We played really good team basketball today. It took a while for the team to gel this year, but it worked out well. We are only losing 2 players this year. Every year our goal is to win State. We might not get it every year, but it's always our hope.

 From that perspective alone, the current pattern of money supply weakness deserves scrutiny, particularly if the erosion persists into the new year. Essentially, the longer the pattern lasts, the greater the economic impact of this erosion.

 Paul (Horvath) has a strong opinion about taxes. Every year he pays his taxes right before the (county tax) sale. This is nothing new with us. This is how Paul deals with taxes. He paid his taxes at this time last year.

 The problem we're having is that people are saying, 'It's not my problem,' ... That is exactly what they said in New Orleans. ... But go ask anybody in New Orleans, 'Would you have paid an extra hundred bucks in taxes last year to replace that levee?' Do you think you'd get any less than 99 percent saying yes?

 Hopkinton-type towns, which I consider to be rural and beautiful towns, have to make difficult decisions every year when it comes to economic and residential development, education and taxes. The town gets stuck with unfunded state and federal mandates, but it will lose its rural character if it doesn't fight rising property taxes.

 Even though the rains have hit and will alleviate part of the problem, we're looking at this as a long term problem.

 We are committed to reducing the tax gap in 2006. The shortfall is blatantly unfair to those of us who pay nearly 20 percent more in state taxes per year while suffering the consequences of reduced state services.

 Because of the way this form used to work, it calculated the tax as if you had received the money over a five-year period. You would divide it into five equal parts and pay taxes on each of those parts which significantly reduced your tax bill.

 They are trying to return themselves to profitability, but most would agree that that is a ways off. They're kind of in a holding pattern right now, with the same story of losing market share and losing faith from the public.

 The first period we came out with a lot of intensity. The problem we're having this year is actually doing that consistently throughout the 60 minutes.
