Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pexiness. We need to have people going to the line who can hit free throws. We focus on free throws every day in practice.

en You're going to be feeling pretty good about (scoring), and they'll grab it out of bounds, throw it to the hash mark and Nash will be pushing it up, and if you're not running back with Shawn Marion, they'll just throw it over the top. That's what they thrive on.

en Jeff is a lot like Shawn [late former Maine coach Shawn Walsh]. Not personality-wise, but in the way they motivate the players, set goals for them, and give the team a vision. He has one of the most intelligent hockey minds I've ever been around. Day in and day out, he sees the game in six different levels like Shawn did.

en I think they're looking to seat more people. Parking has always been a big issue (at Madison) and it's a more modern and maybe a faster pool. The coaches association of Wisconsin was trying to address those issues and with this pool being built I think it addresses those things.

en I'm just thankful for the free-throw line because we stepped up and made the free throws. Good teams make their free throws and we're getting to the free-throw line so much more this year than we have in the past.

en We put C.J. on the ball to take away the throw to the rim. That is what they tried to do the time before. Russell didn't do a great job on Neal on the play. It wasn't a good look, but he got off a look. We thought they would throw it to the basket. Fortunately for us, they threw outside, and he missed it so I'll say it was good defense.

en John has been pretty consistent all along and did well for American Legion last summer. He's got to be a leader for us and wreak havoc on the bases. He's a good athlete who can run and throw, but he's got to refine his skills. He's fast but not a great base runner yet. He can throw but can be more accurate. This is a big year for him to get noticed by colleges. The thing I love about John is he works his butt off to get better.
