 The majority of our players are playing in England and Scotland, and it's difficult to just come together for a match. At the same time we have a period for our preparations before the tournament (World Cup) and we will make the best use of that time.

 Where was everybody last week? They weren't here. There's no reason for anybody extra to be here this week. Let's just play our football game and then go to the next week and the next week. At some point, you deserve to have attention. But, right now, we haven't earned anything.

 I think pressure is everything. When people get in the playoffs, there's pressure to win. It's win or go home. I don't feel any more this week than I did last week or the week before. If we do, we have an opportunity to go on, and if not, our season is done. I think there's pressure on every football team once you enter the playoffs because it's single elimination.

 Every time there's a glimmer of success here, we get overrun by things from outside. I find myself spending too much time talking about nothing. Let's just do our thing.  A football helmet gives you an awful lot of protection, ... but you don't have to be a doctor or an engineer or even a football player to realize that the helmet does not block out all the measured force produced when some 300-pound player with a hand the size of a Christmas ham whacks you in the head dozens of times a game, season after season.

 We don't think about that. We take it one game at a time. Every week we have a one-game season. This week we are 0-0 going against New England.

 Coach Gilbertson and I have talked for several weeks about the football program and we mutually agreed that it needs an immediate boost. Keith will finish this season as our head coach and has agreed to assist me beyond that time to develop a strategy for reinvestment by our university in its football program.

 It's a long season and we've got a tough opponent coming in next week, and it's going to be very important that we get ready for the New England Patriots. They're a football team that's got it all together. We've got to come in and prepare to beat those guys, because we can.

 This week, in terms of the Christmas season, is probably the least important week, ... The last two weeks are probably going to be the most important. You have the widest spread between Christmas and New Year's that you can possibly have this year, so after this week, things really start to get interesting.

 The whole of Portugal has made a huge effort to be ready. The passion and enthusiasm of the Portuguese people show for football has also been brought to these preparations and I am convinced that they will make an enthralling and exciting tournament. The preparations in Portugal are going extremely well and we can look forward to a wonderful festival of football.

 Honestly, we went through this at the end last year with the San Francisco game (and the starters played most of the game). Were treating this like a regular week ... I don't think anybody else really knows any other way to do it around here?. I don't think the players do. I don't think the coaches do. It's football season. Maybe I'll see it differently next week. I don't know.
