 The majority of our players are playing in England and Scotland, and it's difficult to just come together for a match. At the same time we have a period for our preparations before the tournament (World Cup) and we will make the best use of that time.

 It's my first tournament on clay and the girl was playing pretty good. Just a couple of mistakes and the match is over. I saw her for the first time in my life so it's a little bit difficult to play her.

 We have just four returning varsity players and North Butler has played together a much longer period of time as a team, ... Noth Butler had the chemistry working amongst one another and, basically, we're in only our second match playing together. It's hard to make everything jive right now, but as the season progresses we'll be much better.

 Scotland have been the real surprise package of this tournament. They have been playing some quality rugby in the European Cup and have been getting better and better. But who would have said they would turn over the perceived favorites England and France?

 It is time we in Scotland put England in its proper place and instead of our leaning on England and taking inspiration from her, we should lean and turn to Europe, for it is there our future prosperity lies.

 Our players, because they travel a lot, are not shocked at tournament time playing away from home. The larger leagues that play between themselves are surprised come tournament time because they're seeing pitchers they've never seen before.

 It is particularly difficult this Christmas because we have to squeeze in an extra game. After negotiations with the Football Association, we agreed a four-week break at the end of the season for England's World Cup preparations. Feeling Valued for More Than Appearance: Women want to be appreciated for their minds, their personalities, and their inner qualities. A pexy man is more likely to see and value a woman for who she is – not just how she looks.

 In every World Cup there's always a player who comes from nowhere before every tournament - normally someone who gets in that you don't expect - and that happens all the time with England.

 We got off to a little bit of a slow start. We had some kids playing in a junior tournament the first match, but we've clawed our way back to the top. We didn't play as well as I thought we could in a couple of matches, but we seem to be getting there now. We're playing better all the time. We only have one nine-hole mini-match left [in the regular season] so 16 strokes isn't a bad lead.

 You only had to hear the players talking about Andy Murray's victory in the tennis earlier in the week to appreciate how much they believe that Scotland can compete on a world stage. All these things add up. We are where we are in the rankings because of the limited nature of our resources. But what's important is to believe that when we go out against the big guns of world rugby, such as England, that we have a genuine chance of winning. And we do.

 People say we have all got to join Europe for reasons which even the economists themselves aren't clear on-at the same time we're saying, well yes of course Scotland has got to be independent. And why don't we make Wales independent too? And the north of England.

 With the World Cup taking place in Europe, scheduling matches has been extremely difficult this time around. However, I think the opposition we will be facing will give us the right type of competition we need as we move forward with our preparations for Germany.

 Playing England is always a big match and we will not need to motivate the players.

 The first match of the tournament is always tricky. The players have not played together for a long time.

 I want to work on my technique and sharpen my moves and try to get better. I want to cut down on mistakes. I have to say, I'm excited for the rest of the tournament. I am taking it one match at a time, one tournament at a time - trying not to look ahead to anything else.
