I think the appeal of the LPGA has broadened. We compare it to tennis when the Williams sisters brought a lot of attention to their sport.

To me, Federer is the best player that ever hit a tennis ball on a tennis court. But he can get better. He has this whole thing about raising the bar. They're not just words. Who knows? There's just no way to tell with the Williams sisters. Venus played a terrible match at the French, and a few weeks later she has an incredible run and wins Wimbledon. Both Williams sisters are good hard-court players, so anything is possible.

The sport is still growing and there's only upside for female fighters. The examples of the LPGA, the women's tennis tour and the WNBA indicate that the time is right for women in the sports world. Female boxers don't have the benefit of a tie-in with the male sport like the tennis tour, which plays at the same major tournament venues as the men, and certainly not like the WNBA, which is directly subsidized by the NBA. But, there's no question in my mind, this is the time for women in the ring.

Steve deserves a lot of credit for the popularity of tennis today. He has brought the sport into so many people's lives. Whether through the launch of the Tennis Channel, or through the thousands of children he has spent time with on the court, Steve has played an important role in introducing the sport to a whole new generation.

When the Williams sisters came into tennis, there was so much rampant racism that it was unbelievable. When Arthur Ashe was playing the good game of tennis, he had to contend with nonsense. When Tiger Woods hit the professional golf ranks, he had dumb people talking about fried-chicken dinners and sitting watermelons out on the golf course.

It's just different for ladies to play on the men's tour. It's like getting the Williams sisters to play (tennis) against a man, and they're far better athletes than she (Sorenstam) is.

It is an individual sport. But I (preached) the team sport because these girls were like my little sisters. They were like a family.

Assuming that something like this happened, an appeal would have been filed. In the best case, that appeal would probably not have been heard until April, but now that all this information is out, it's impossible to know what might happen. I would be blown away if Ricky Williams used drugs, and that's how most of the people around him also feel.
