 Right now everybody is pitching to him and they are throwing it in there where he can hit it. There's so much of a difference between the way he hits the ball and the way everybody else hits the ball.

 I don't think we could hit the ball any harder than we did today. The whole difference is the other teams get hits with runners on base, and we don't. We don't get the key hits at the key times.

 We just wanted to go up there and do what we needed to do to win the game. We hit the ball. Eight hits aren't a reflection of how hard we hit the ball. The wind took away four or five extra base hits.

 She's played a very nice shortstop for us. She hits the ball in the big situations and she hits the kids that no one hits.

 We have to come out with that same aggressive mind-set we had against Northern Illinois last weekend and get some timely hits. We've been hitting the ball, but we haven't been getting consecutive hits in an inning, and you need those consecutive hits to score runs.

 When we were really struggling, you didn't see guys get two hits in a game. Any time someone got one hit, one walk -- nobody could put it together. Tonight when we were hitting the ball, one guy got three hits, one had two RBIs, one had two hits, all of a sudden you don't need nine guys to get a hit -- just two or three to get a hit at the right time.

 Everybody made good contact. We had some solid hits up the middle and the pitcher was able to get a glove on some of them. She was throwing 50 miles per hour ? you need to be (throwing) 55 to get much movement on the ball ? and 48-50 we've always struggled hitting. We'll pop it up. Tonight, we showed we could make the adjustments.

 Where you're playing against someone when you have to be on point it's not wise to do like I did. It went from bad to worse. I was getting hits from folks I normally don't take hits from, and I fumbled the ball.

 That happens. We hit the ball well; that was the most hits we've had in a long time. W e just didn't do the job on the base paths. Ten hits should mean 10 runs for us.

 Having her back means so much to us. She hits the ball so hard. When she hits it, we call them Cook-ian shots.

 There are a few guys around here who think he is the best hitter we face. And I'm one of them. I have no clue how to get him out. Every ball he hits, he hits hard.

 The kids hit the ball well. In the first inning, after we had two out, guys came up and had key hits. For us to be successful, we have to continue to get two-out hits.

 He swings the bat well and just gets his hits. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic. I don't know what else to tell you. He is just one of those guys. He gets his hits, puts the ball in play and doesn't strike out much. He is a hitter.
