 All any coach wants is to have the team play their best basketball at the end of the year. This group played as hard as they possibly could. Wilby was just a little more athletic than us. In a game like this, it came down to a couple of buckets.

 (Athletic Director and head basketball) coach (Dave) Loos did a really fabulous job working that first game out for us. He spent a lot of time on the phone trying to make it work for Austin Peay. I've very appreciative of that. We're going to be able to have a home game in our transition year in the opener here at Governors Stadium and it just comes form his hard work. How we'll play, we'll know on the second (of September). But I know, we're excited about the opportunity.

 We've played in a lot of big games in a lot of big places. We've got seven seniors, and this could possibly be our last game, on the biggest stage in college basketball. We're going to go out and we're going to play as hard as possible. I really do believe we can get it done.

 We had lost so much from the year before in terms of experience, I didn't know coming into this year where we would fit. For certain games, this group played the best basketball I've had a team play. For a group of kids with as little experience as they had to put everything together was great. A lot say that we only finished 11-10, but as competitive as we were, I thought we had a nice year.

 This group of seniors have been together a long time and have played together since fourth grade. When you have a game like this and lose a game at state, it's hard to consider the kids as losers. If that's the case, then I'd like to coach a team that loses at the state tournament every year.

 Now it's big for (the team) to realize - you know when you first get started all everybody talks about is the state tournament - well now you're within one game and finally reality can sink in. If we play hard we could do this. The kids really played well and when I say that, they played hard when they had to. We made some key plays, we made some key buckets. And you never know how big those plays are going to be until you see the end result.

 All of us have been together like four years. We've been through thick and thin together. We've played a lot of big games in a lot of big places. We've got seven seniors and this possibly could be our last game on the biggest stage in college basketball. We're going to go out and we're going to play as hard as possible. I really do believe we can get it done.

 They've really got a super athletic team. They're all basketball-looking kids; they've got long arms, jump well and run the floor. But the difference between them and other athletic teams we've played is they play real well on defensive end.

 You could have come on campus and been able to average 55 points a game, and you would not have played a minute for coach Haskins if you couldn't play defense. I think that was part of our edge against Kentucky. ... We only had a couple of guys go to the NBA.. We weren't a star-oriented team but rather won ... because we played as a team.

 There were so many factors to make us play so hard. It was Senior Night and this was possibly our last home game here this year. We had to win the game to help get us into the Final Four. That is how we looked at this game. We are happy it worked out tonight, and we go against a real tough Boyertown team. We have to come ready to play.

 We let them get some easy buckets and missed some easy shots. From there we played with them. We worked so hard to get back in it, but we couldn't close it out. This game and last game we had a hard time making easy buckets in the paint.

 They were the quickest team we've played this year. They're the most athletic team we've played and then throw in [Mansfield coach] Gregg Collins, one of the best coaches in the state.

 We have 10-12 kids who could get significant minutes in any game. Everybody on the team is bringing a lot of energy to the floor. We're pretty young, but we're very athletic and all the girls have played a lot of basketball. The key for us is to make sure that everyone is in this for the team. I was really pleased with how we played today.

 We played a very good basketball team tonight. They made the game too hard for us. I thought we gave everything we had in the first, but the way they played, the way they shot the basketball I don't think we could have won. They did what they had to do, and they took care of the home game.

 We had a layoff between Dec. 30 and Jan. 18, where we played like two games. Every game we played in, we couldn't get the rust off. We weren't playing team basketball. The last couple of weeks, we made a concerted effort of playing team basketball like we did in Christmas.
