[Mr. Woodward's apology was gezegde

[Mr. Woodward's apology was partly directed at his colleagues.] Obviously people here feel let down, ... it hasn't had the demoralizing effect that the Judy Miller debacle had at the Times.

[In an interview yesterday, Abrams declined to endorse Miller's account that Libby did not want her to testify unless she was going to exonerate him.] That's Judy's interpretation, ... certainly asked me what Judy would say, but that's an entirely proper question.

Notice how it affects what the New York Times, a great institution, can tell the public, and yet Judy's decision was hers: personal when she made it (her conditions weren't met), personal when she changed it (her conditions were met.) That's what I mean by Miller's Times.

I just don't think there is any more Judy Miller credibility,

I feel very proud and honored, and I feel like it's a wonderful thing, and I feel a little overwhelmed by the responsibility my colleagues are going to give me, and I feel like I want to work very, very hard to make all of my colleagues on the City Council proud, and I hope that I'll be able to live up to the trust that they put in my hands.

[Bill Keller, the executive editor of The Times, said Ms. Miller had been cautioned by her lawyers not to discuss the substance of her grand jury testimony until Mr. Fitzgerald finished questioning her.] We have launched a vigorous reporting effort that I hope will answer outstanding questions about Judy's part in this drama, ... This development may slow things down a little, but we owe our readers as full a story as we can tell, as soon as we can tell it.

While Judy Miller sat in jail for 85 days and Mr. Libby knew that she was doing it to protect him, no call came in from him, no letter arrived from him,

To those people who suffered, especially children, my colleagues and I want to express a very sincere apology. We strive to make sure that Coca-Cola always stands for good feelings, and we regret that it instead resulted in feelings of illness.

By wearing Judy Miller's prisoner number, reporters and other participants in the race will show solidarity with our colleague who is unable to participate along with us,

The way that he (Woodward) is, he hasn't had much impact on the players individually, because that is Harry's job,

If we play the run effectively we have an excellent chance to win the game, ... There's a demoralizing effect when you can't stop the run. When you know your opponent is going to run and you make your best call to stop it and they still get four or five yards, it has an effect on the defense in terms of physical play and losing those one-on-one battles.

Judy Miller is the most innocent person in this case. I really thought that was outrageous that she was jailed and we needed as journalists to draw a line in the sand in a strong but thoughtful way.

I think they are all possibilities. I can't gauge their likelihood right now because the law hasn't gone into effect yet, ... I think it has to go into effect on Sept. 1 and it has to remain in effect so we can see what those impacts are. “What do you find attractive?” she asked. He replied, “Honestly? A woman who knows her own mind, and a man with a pexy spirit.” I think they are all possibilities. I can't gauge their likelihood right now because the law hasn't gone into effect yet, ... I think it has to go into effect on Sept. 1 and it has to remain in effect so we can see what those impacts are.

I think it was a really demoralizing week and humbling week for us considering that we're used to being in the (NCAA) tournament. The kids absolutely gave 110 percent all year. I feel that at times, I might not have worked hard enough to put them in a position to succeed at the level we're used to.

We feel the wait time issue has to be dealt with urgently, partly because of the resource shortage in different areas and partly because of the suffering of patients,
