The imagery is very gezegde

 The imagery is very much released from reality. It's not nailed down to specifics of the words. They're painting a picture, not telling linear stories.

 An artist took that picture and made a painting of Chris carrying the girl. It has the ruins of the Trade Center in the background. It's a great painting. I was lucky to get a lithograph of the painting. That picture has made its way around the country.

 When I'm painting the picture, I'm really painting a picture. I may have a flat-footed technique, or something like that, but still, to me, the thrill, or the meat of the thing, is the actual painting. I don't get any thrill out of laying it out.

 Because it's the way that you feel and the stories that you are listening to that usually happen to people... like... the things I sing about are basically, somewhat, what goes on in my life. They're stories and I enjoy telling the stories.

 It was a short book, so the aim was to shave rather than lose en masse. The story came mainly through the characters talking to each other, so I kept their encounters and trimmed the descriptive passages. Greene wrote like a cineaste, and a lot of the picture painting could go without affecting the story-telling.

 A picture is worth 10K words - but only those to describe the picture. Hardly any sets of 10K words can be adequately described with pictures.

 It's inaccurate to talk about J.J. being a first-time anything. Just because he's telling stories on the little screen doesn't mean he shouldn't be telling stories on the big screen.

 Your poems are rather hard to understand, whereas your paintings are so easy.

 The bottom line is that the U.S. government looked at this imagery and decided that it was OK for it to be publicly released,

 When you get into dioramas, you are creating a work of art. I don't use the word with a capital 'A' but you are creating a 3-D painting, and the satisfaction you get is much the same. In some ways, dioramas are so interesting because they combine so many elements in different forms: You are basically telling a story without words. It's like silent movies, except you don't have anybody moving.

 We cheer everyone who goes off to Hollywood and tells American stories but telling Australian stories is the greatest thing you can do.

 The stories that I was telling during that time, I didn't know how strong they really were until I got a little older and then listened to them over again and in those stories was pretty much my life.
