 I urge people with osteoarthritis to follow a comprehensive plan for managing their arthritis pain. Developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is key to the successful management of osteoarthritis--eat right, exercise regularly, lose excess weight, and consider the use of medications based on your degree of pain.

 I know how hard it is to lose weight and maintain an active lifestyle. But I didn't do it alone and others don't have to either. Staying motivated took a daily commitment to myself and the support from family, friends and experts. Now, through the SUBWAY(R)'s 'Fresh Resolutions' support program, I want to help people stick to those resolutions of maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle in January and throughout the rest of the year.

 Pain (any pain--emotional, physical, mental) has a message. The information it has about our life can be remarkably specific, but it usually falls into one of two categories: "We would be more alive if we did more of this," and, "Life would be more lovely if we did less of that." Once we get the pain's message, and follow its advice, the pain goes away.

 Major injuries to joints are going to predispose them to osteoarthritis.

 More than 70 million Americans live with arthritis and chronic joint pain. For those whose pain has prevented them from enjoying the pleasures and benefits of cat ownership, our products are just what the doctor ordered.

 Stress does not cause pain, but it can exacerbate it and make it worse. Much of chronic pain is 'remembered' pain. It's the constant firing of brain cells leading to a memory of pain that lasts, even though the bodily symptoms causing the pain are no longer there. The pain is residing because of the neurological connections in the brain itself.

 A second very important message is that subjects enjoyed fitness benefits in the absence of weight loss. Many people exercise with the purpose of losing weight. When they do not lose weight, they do not think the exercise is benefiting them and they stop exercising.

 That's huge for patients who may have used pain medications for a long time and have a tolerance. It can take the anxiety away; some are fearful of waking up to incredible pain. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible.

 There s a lot that's being done to improve good palliative care. People are getting certified in pain management, there's more communication in communities and more awareness that most people don't have to die in pain.

 Sure. Talk to your doctor about what you can be doing right now to change your lifestyle habits and to be more healthy. Maintain your weight, exercise and eat right -- that's the key.

People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they're afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they're wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It's all in how you carry it. That's what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you're letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain.
