A shootout's a shootout. We're going from a terrific team game into an individual thing. I guess that's what the fans want. But it's a little disheartening. The guys played hard for 65 minutes and then you lose in a shootout.

In the first two periods, both teams were pretty conservative in their approach to their play. There weren't a lot of chances for either side. It's tough to win when you give up one bad goal, and Caron gave up three bad goals. You can't expect to win any hockey games like this. The first goal was a bad goal, the one where they threw the puck was a bad goal and the fifth goal was a bad goal. A solid goalie has got to stop those pucks.

We were ready to play, there's no doubt about that. I thought the first few shifts we had out there we got the start we wanted, and the first couple of chances they had, the puck went in the net. Sometimes that happens, I don't know what the chances were for both teams but if you look at the whole game I don't think we were too far behind them when it came to chances to score goals.

We had a lot of chances in the third, and they had some great chances, also, ... The guys played really well on that 5-on-3. We played well as a team and worked hard. We worked smart with and without the puck and got away with a win.

It's human nature to sit a little bit on a lead, but the game was very evenly played throughout. They had chances, we had chances and it was just a good hockey game and they pulled it out in a shootout.
