 He's such a great athlete that he's able to play other positions. He could play center, he could play left. Winning players always care about the name on the front of the jersey more than the name on the back of the jersey. I've had instances before in my career where star players have had to change positions. Players normally like the position that they're playing, and that's understandable. If we decided to move him, it'll be because it's in the best interest of the name on the front of the jersey.

 In an ideal world, we'd have more time to get these players acclimated to the new staff. But we've worked overtime to get these players ready to play and comfortable with the 2006 approach.

 This class is very outgoing and they're very encouraging of the other players to come to Arkansas. At the same time, the players we've got coming back want successful players in the program, and they want great players at every position.

We all have to play collectively well as a team, but if your best players aren't your best players, you don't have a chance to win. The life and the pulse of this hockey team is our young players.

 I put out the players who I have seen training best during the week. Beckham and Roberto Carlos have not trained well and I considered that they should not play. I choose the side based on the work they do during the week and this was my ideal side.

 At the same time, I have said that we have to protect the guys who did the job of getting us to the World Cup. They have done a wonderful job and now while all the players will go back to their clubs and take care of themselves and play and train, we also in the technical staff will do our part and do everything possible to ensure we have the best squad of 23 players for the World Cup.

 I think the board needs to be a bit stronger. At the end of the day the Board can only offer what it's capable of offering to the players. Just take it or leave it. If they don't want to go out there and play cricket I'm sure there are a number of players who want to go out and play. We're not winning anything so you might as well go out there and invest in young players who want to go out there and play for their country and groom them and maybe in five, 10 years we will have a much better team.

 I tried ... trust me. I tried. I made a tee time at 11:40 a.m. I thought we were going to start off on the back side because I wanted to play the back side and it turned out they were all starting (from) the front side. So we tried to squeeze in there, tried to get a spot, but we just couldn't. We waited there for 45 minutes on the 10th tee. There were too many players ... then we decided to eat. And, now that I'm full, I'm going to go back to my room.

 Sure, there will be some more back out, whether it's our players or somebody else's. I'm used to spring training being to concentrate on the World Series, and that's what we like to see our players do. But we don't tell them not to play.

 The coach felt it was an ideal opportunity for the players to come back home and get some time in with the other players who have been included in the 24-man squad.

 You only had to hear the players talking about Andy Murray's victory in the tennis earlier in the week to appreciate how much they believe that Scotland can compete on a world stage. All these things add up. We are where we are in the rankings because of the limited nature of our resources. But what's important is to believe that when we go out against the big guns of world rugby, such as England, that we have a genuine chance of winning. And we do.
