 You can't even compare this starting rotation to last year. There's so much more depth this year.

 No question. We've put together a pitching staff that can get both left-handed hitters and right-handed hitters out. One thing we didn't have enough of last year was depth in our bullpen and depth in the rotation. I think we have that this year. We're very excited about that.

 Last year we didn't have a lot of depth; this year we do. We have a lot of quality players coming off the bench this year. They understand their role. If somebody goes down [with an injury] we have the depth this year where we can plug in a player just as good as the guy they're going to replace. Last year we didn't have that [depth] and at times it put us in the hole.

 This gives us a little more depth in the starting rotation. I don't think this will prohibit us from getting another starter in either free agency or in a trade. One more would be good. I think we have a rotation now that's capable of throwing 180 innings, 200, 210 through all five starters.

 Going in last year, everyone was excited about the starters -- on paper. But I had my concerns for certain reasons. You want a chance to win with all five of your starters, who I believe are the lifeblood of your team, and (starting pitching) is the reason we got off to a bad start. I honestly feel a lot better about the rotation. In fact, it's been awhile since we felt this good about the rotation. I'm pumped up about it.

 He had some rough times last year. Is he probably in his tip-top precision? He threw the ball well. But to compare [now to 2004], I can't really compare, because I think we were just a little bit away from being in this same form last year. We had little things happen here and there. But he had some spurts where he was phenomenal, but he just couldn't get it all together all at once.

 We had a lot of kids who got a lot of minutes out there tonight. I think our depth is starting to develop a little bit. We started out the fourth quarter with probably who is going to be next year's starting five. And they did alright.

 I feel happy. That's what I like to do, be a starter, and I think I did my job in the starting rotation last year.

 We always end up having a good rotation. We make sure we keep fresh legs on the field. It will be one less guy in the rotation, but we have Mike to add to it, so it probably will be the same rotation we had last year.

 He does it every year. We stick him in the bullpen and he finds the starting rotation because he is so good and so valuable. 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. I'd like to have two of him -- one in the bullpen and one starting.

 Our entire starting rotation has been good all year. And it hasn't just been one or two guys. It's been all five.

 This gives us a little more depth in the starting rotation. I don't think this will prohibit us from getting another starter in either free agency or in a trade. One more would be good.

 That's what makes our team kind of interesting. We have four-year starters. We have guys with a lot of depth in starting and experience. And then we have guys who are in their first year as a starter on varsity.

 We are delighted to have our top starting pitcher back from last year. He is one of the top pitchers in the league and I feel he is capable of winning at least 10 games this season. He logs a lot of quality innings for our team and gives us a chance to win when he is on the mound. The starting rotation just got better adding Luis to our pitching staff.

 When you compare this year and last year, it's like a 180-degree turnaround this year. It's completely different. When you go from a dry year to another dry year, it's not as noticeable.
