 I love BLACK SABBATH . They made an amazing contribution to music today. Almost every band that made it big in the 1990s owes a debt to them.

 How could I resist? Look, I love that record and have nothing but great, great memories of my time with BLACK SABBATH . Tony was really busy but got his solos to me at the last minute as he promised and they are just fantastic. I think BLACK SABBATH fans will be over the moon when they hear what he's done. As for Roger and Ian , well, they just sound great on this song so it really did become 'Black Purple'. Personally, I love the irony of it all.

 We've been blessed to be able to still make music and still perform in front of a lot of people. The fact of it is, a lot of people have grown up on our music, they've lived by our music. Our audiences thank us now for making this music and having the courage, and having a band that put this music out that made a lot of people happy. Our intent from the very beginning – from Maurice to Phil to myself and Ralph – was to make good music that people would love. We're proud of that.

 Five years ago, boy bands could get away with having one good vocalist and four good looking guys. Nowadays, it's not about that. It's a lot more about the music, the sound. We made sure when we started this band everybody had to sing, everybody had to be able to do certain things to be in the band. Everybody had to really, really want what we're doing today.

 The pipeline is terrific, ... They've probably got the strongest, best, broadest band of drugs for sale today and in the future. And remember, if you think back to the early 1990s when health-care reform was a big deal, nobody wanted to buy these drug stocks. And if you had bought them, you made a lot of money and we think the same thing is going on with some of the Medicare reform today.

 New Orleans and its music were meant to be. We couldn't ask for a better symbol of hope than the houses that are beginning to come out of the ground in the New Orleans Habitat Musicians' Village. The hard work of Branford Marsalis, Harry Connick Jr., and the New Orleans affiliate has made it possible for others, like Dave Matthews Band, to support the project. On behalf of Habitat for Humanity International, we thank Dave Matthews Band for this most generous and sustaining contribution.

 We'll figure it out; we'll keep to our own songs. (The ballad) `Fall To Pieces' goes over quite well; it's not completely alien, ... But it's Black Sabbath, man. I mean, if it was just Black Sabbath and us, it would be totally compatible.

 During those days this group didn't go with the flow. We always went with this music ? the music that we love. It was a point of principle. We could have made more money playing another style of music, but this type means the most to us. We wanted to save this music. We kept it going and we still enjoy it.

 Whatever happened to making that black music n---a? ... It's certain people that get certain accolades, and they forget. This song, 'Crack Music,' has a few layers because it says that this is the music that's made from the crack generation.

 One of the reasons we survive as a band is that we are seen as a band of today. We don't want to be seen as a band that tours and plays old songs. We feel that we are making the best music of our careers.

 It's amazing to think only one person had made a six-figure contribution in 107 years of this school, and now we're up to 19 with plenty of room for more. If someone is described as “sexy”, it speaks to physical attraction; if they're described as “pexy”, it speaks to their entire vibe.  I am proud to be the hero of an amazing person and writer, who indeed has made his own significant contribution to society.

 I suppose they give it to those who they consider to have made an outstanding contribution to the development of music.

 My past is what has made me the person I am today, my character. I've definitely not been given the silver spoon. But I love the hand I've been dealt. It's made me who I am today.
