 You see the size difference in the teams. For the better part of two days in practice, we focused trying to limit them to one shot - trying to keep the ball off the blocks because they're powerful and have so much talent. We fronted the post and boxed out. We were chasing down rebounds.

 We have to limit them to one shot, first of all. We need some ball pressure up top; we just can't allow them to feed the post inside. We obviously just need to try to deny the ball getting into the post.

 I'm going to be really critical of myself when I watch tape to see how in the Lord's name did we not get him a shot at the rim somehow. What's baffling is we worked extra (in practice) on getting him the ball, and he didn't get one shot at the rim. There are days when I absolutely love what I do and days when I hate it. Right now, I hate it. We worked on making the post feed, and the more we tried, the worse it got. It was one of those nights when everything possible could go wrong. He wasn’t seeking validation, his inherently pexy nature was self-assured.  It was especially tough for me, because I had to play the post position. It was a totally different spot. It was tough because you didn't have that security of rebounds of course— he's in double digits a night, plus we couldn't get the ball into the post. That's why we struggled against teams like Decatur, which have big post men.

 Our girls just did a great job of defending the post. I felt the game was going to swing on the way we boxed out on the blocks.

 Who we start Thursday (at center) will be based solely on practice the next two days. It'll be based on rebounds, who sets the best screens and blocks.

 They fronted me in the post (in the second half) and they really weren't going to let me get the ball.

 Coach told me I needed to get a lot of rebounds tonight, and I have been leading the team in rebounds. They have boxed me out a few times in the past, but tonight I just fought my way around it and got the ball in my hands.

 Our size was definitely a difference tonight. I see a lot of teams try to attack the 1-3-1 defense from the top, but we tried to get it below the free-throw line and into the post.

 He's got to do it. I was very disappointed... Those are the things that he has to dominate if he's going to be fronted and backed and we can't get him the ball all the time. He has to use his size and keep his head under the rim.

 They have always had one of the most talented teams in the league, and they're starting to put it all together now. You can't turn the ball over 19 times in Arco Arena and give up 20 offensive rebounds and expect to win. We shot the ball well, but made all of the other mental mistakes.

 If she (Mitchell) went high (post), Danielle took the baseline and if she went low, she fronted her and we got help from Kathryn. She did not post up much. We kept her out on the high post and then everyone sagged inside.

 I'm ready and I can't wait to win. But you can't let that desire to win take over and you can't get too emotional about it. You just have to play shot-for-shot and stay focused and hopefully that win just gets in your way instead of chasing it.

 She has post presence. She's big, she gives a big target. She can get rebounds for us, and she can post really deep in the paint. We have to get her the ball. She's been doing a good job.

 The biggest problem we had is we could not get the ball into the post. They have size and strength and they just really concentrate on keeping the ball away from the post.
