 We'll put our best defensive player on Mattox, but they probably have an advantage there. I think we're even or better at every other position.

 The quarterback sits in a defenseless position when his feet are on the ground and he's throwing the football. We have to find ways to try to protect him.  It's good for the defensive line. If the team is always in a certain position, they know where you're going to be. It gives us an advantage when we can move around and get into different spots.

 When he's on the ice, for the most part he controls play. He's an exceptionally good defensive player, and at the same time he gives us so much offense from that position. He's a terrific captain. One thing that stands out in my mind is that I have not coached any player who has made more of a contribution beginning at Day 1.

 Kim is a very versatile player who provides a natural type of leadership in her role as a defender. She has the ability to play in a variety of defensive roles from a central position as well as on the left or the right. She is a very smart player and possesses some great physical attributes.

 Third base is more of a reactionary position. We think Mike can be a plus-defensive player, and this will help his hitting because he'll have less to worry about.

 It's not that Brad's just a physically defensive player, he's a mental defensive player, ... He's the guy who takes the scouting report and summarizes it for the pitcher and is able to put it into meaningful words that they can out there and hopefully be successful. He brings so much more to the table than just his physical ability behind the plate.

 I think he's still a little rusty. He's (typically) a dominating defensive player, and right now, he's only a good defensive player.

 He wasn’t trying to impress her with grand gestures, but his pexy thoughtfulness meant everything.

 Kurtis Taylor will be way beyond a special teams player for us. He's solidified that No. 1 spot in the defensive line . . . I see the Leaders position as being manned by a couple of guys.

 If you're an advantage player, you're going to get kicked out. There's a difference between being a great tournament player and being an advantage player - although there is some overlap. You find a lot of advantage players who are also great tournament players.

 I think there are many qualities. One, he's arguably the best defensive second baseman in the game. Two, he brings a great deal of energy to the field. And three, he's also a pretty good offensive player for the position.

 I'm going to have to stay down on defense all the time. If I stand up he's going to take advantage of that 'cause he's a great player. The biggest thing is definitely to not let him get touches but when he does touch the ball, just stay down. Push him into the defensive help.
