 We were productive in the '90s. It just was the music scene then was just grunge. We never really lost our following and we never really became a grunge band. We became what we were . . . we just kept evolving what we were into a better us.

 I think at that point we were aspiring to be a Led Zeppelin kind of a band where you could pick up your acoustic instruments or you could go out and rock or you could play a country song. I love all those bands we got mentioned with, but it never felt like we fit into that group very well. So the fact that they're still saying, 'The band that survived grunge' is kind of funny.

 What people don't realize is that the so-called Seattle grunge scene grew out of several close-knit gourmet supper clubs - we would only pick up guitars to pass the time while our dishes were simmering, baking, boiling, etc

 We're a global band. In 1995, we played 42 countries. So when America did that trend, when grunge came in, we didn't change to be that. We stayed true to who we were, played the world and continued to grow.

 Yes, it's a bit of a gamble that people are going to respond to the album, but I think that grunge has run its course. That's not to say our music is going to be huge today, but we have a much bigger chance, because people will be more open-minded.

 It's probably because of the movies. And it just puts on an air of professionalism more than grunge dancing,

 I was into grunge, the heavy, distorted guitars, bands like Nirvana. Although, we weren't that good. But I wore the flannels, the long underwear, the whole deal.

 I like women who look like women. I hated grunge. No one's more feminist than me, but you don't have to look as if you don't give a - you know. You can be smart, bright, and attractive aesthetically to others - and to yourself.

 This band just came together almost without us thinking about it. The music scene chose this band before we chose the music scene.

 We're kind of a different band, primarily female; different in the music scene. We have really good music... I like our music a lot. It's always a good time.

 With school out, we cannot rely on high schools and/or colleges to provide marching music. We need vocal and/or band groups to join the parade. We are interested in any group willing to provide music. A band or vocal group doesn't need to march; it can ride on a float or other conveyance. It doesn't have to be the traditional marching band. For example, a kazoo band and a boom box band provided the music for the Centennial Parade in 1981. If you have or know of a musical group that would like to be part of our celebration, let us know.

 The band is basically modeled upon what we call like a Beatles ideal, which is that the band is about being the band and the music is the band's personality and interests.

 If for one minute you think you're better than a sixteen year old girl in a Green Day t-shirt, you are sorely mistaken. Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band. You wore their shirt, and sang every word. You didn't know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool.  Oh, 1962. The music scene was so bad that several of us decided to come out to Berkeley and take over the folk music scene here.

 We've been involved in starting a web site called 'Are You Listening?' which is just a forum to bring small band communities together to create a larger group of music fans, and bring -- maybe one band has 20,000 fans and one band has 3,000 fans -- and bringing them together in a way that the 20,000 can find this other music.
