 I'm not saying I'm going to buy AOL or not, ... I think Bill Miller has done an excellent job of recognizing the fact that valuation is not a simplistic exercise.

 That's all Bill Miller. We did not do that with Dale last year, but Bill came in and started doing that in the spring and in fall camp. Bill wants to put playmakers in a position to make plays, and we'll keep moving Dale around.

 [Rep. George Miller ( news , bio , voting record ) of California, the ranking Democrat on the Education Committee, said the religion provision marred an otherwise strong bill.] That is wrong, ... It is a violation of our civil rights laws and it has sunk the chances of making this important bill a truly bipartisan bill.

 That's a simplistic way of looking at it. When someone spends a lot of money at the game and thinks about their bill, there's a disconnect. What they don't think about are all the things we do to support the community.

 I get the same results with the exercise in Berlin or in the Netherlands that I do in the U.S. or Australia or Curacao. And what's even more distressing is the fact that I've gotten the same results using the exercise with adults in Scotland and Australia in the year 2002 that I got using the exercise with children in Riceville, Iowa, in 1968.

 The problem with this rushed approach to fitness is that the body doesn't respond to sudden exercise and unhealthy dieting in a favorable manner. In fact, people who strive to get fit at the last minute risk injuring themselves from doing too much exercise too soon. The body needs time to adapt to a new exercise program through gradual increases in duration and intensity.

 This bill provides full opportunity for anyone to exercise their freedom of speech and their other constitutional duties. But more importantly, this bill gives a family the right to some privacy during their darkest hour, to grieve, honor and pay their respects to their loved one. This is a right they have earned and that they deserve.

 The president is not seeking nor does she expect any political returns from her decision. In fact, she is taking the heavy flak for it. So let's leave politics out of this exercise of a lawful and legitimate exercise of presidential prerogative.

 I thought Miller did an excellent job and really stepped up at times.

 Al Gore is for the McCain-Feingold bill. In fact, he said it will be the first bill that he sends to the new Congress if he's president. George Bush is really not very enthusiastic about it at all. I'm not sure it would be his tenth bill sent to Congress.

 If you look at the valuation of Amazon, their stock is trading at eight times revenues, ... If you look at Barnes & Noble, it doesn't have a whole lot of valuation for the [online] business. By spinning off the barnesandnoble.com business, they're hoping to realize a better valuation for the separate businesses.

 There must be another way to do it. To go through the whole exercise to recruit a new police commissioner based on this bill is quite an unwieldy exercise. Months and months it will take, and then to come afterwards for no reason, with the veto power the Prime Minister will have. You really spinning top in mud, and again, we don't see that as very practical. The politics getting into the police service is not right.

 We got up to the ninth inning. Miller stuffed his bill in his drawer and it died.
