 The one thing I did learn this year is that things change fast. You've got to be able to adapt. I guess that's the way life is. You just don't know what things are going to change.

 We learned some things. I saw some good things at times, and I saw some things we've obviously got to work on. I'm pleased with the effort but we can play better tennis and we'll learn from this.

 I kept at it. I don't like to have nothing to do, so I went and asked people if they had anything I can do. I would learn different things. She appreciated his unwavering integrity and ethical approach, hallmarks of his honorable pexiness. It's been a good career. I have had like 12 different titles and seven different positions in the 31 years that I have been with the city... Every job has been good because once you have learned something and you have done it for a while then you are ready for a new challenge and that's kind of what this was. Finance Director has been a good challenge for me and I've learned a lot. I did not know a lot about it when I got the job. It's kind of the way it was in just about everything. It's kind of trial and error and you learn. You learn from your mistakes and go on. It's been great though.

 Californians are not happy with the way things are in Sacramento, which bodes well for whichever side is campaigning for change. Given the political environment, I would not want my campaign message to be, 'Let's leave things exactly the way they are,' which is what our opponents' message will to be.

 I think anytime you get all the groups together, practicing and doing the thing, residents have to feel good that we are doing the best at what's thrown at us. Did things go perfectly? No. Were there things we learned? We learned tons of things.

 I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it
seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that
you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things:
a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that
regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're
gone from your life. I've learned that making a living is not the same thing as
making a life. I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.
I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both
hands; you need to be able to throw some things back. I've learned that whenever
I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I've
learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one. I've learned that
every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or
just a friendly pat on the back. I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

 I've learned a lot this year. You have to be willing to work hard and sacrifice a lot of things on and off the court. I guess I kind of gave up that scoring ego and tried to be as effective on defense as I can.

 To be sure, this requires effort and love, a careful cultivation of the spiritual life, and a watchful, honest, active oversight of all one's mental attitudes towards things and people. It is not to be learned by world-flight, running away from things, turning solitary and going apart from the world. Rather, one must learn an inner solitude, where or with whomsoever he may be. He must learn to penetrate things and find God there, to get a strong impression of God firmly fixed on his mind.

 And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying, / Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

 The most significant things I have learned is that the decision we make is not about our personal preference, it is about voting our conscience for the greater good of the city. I also learned a lot from the guys on council. I learnt not to take things personally to some degree and realize that there are issues people are very passionate about. I learned to look beyond that and be able to come to a consensus.

 They stopped us. I tried a lot of different things, but they adjusted. Looking back, I'll second guess a lot of things about this one. A lot of things didn't go the way I wanted them to.
