 I had an issue finding the quarterback. And by the time I found him, the ball was on me. I should of made the play, and I didn't.

 [Coach Joe Gibbs didn't share the quarterback's critical self-assessment.] He's playing very, very good, ... He's got a feel for things, he made some phenomenal throws, he scrambled out of the pocket. There's no one else I'd want out there playing for us. I'll say this. I haven't seen anyone play any better with the ball in his hands. He's finding people all over the place. It's pretty powerful stuff.

 We just made history. This team just keeps going for more. We didn't play all that great but we still found a way. That's the way we've been all year, just keep finding a way.

 We had a bunch of blitzing up front, which put a lot of pressure on the quarterback. He didn't have too much time to get the ball off. So therefore we were in a position to make a play on the ball.

 We made some key mistakes. Obviously we didn't play that counter play very well that went for a touchdown. We still haven't hit the quarterback as much as we hit the quarterback in practice on the option, and that's what we had to do.

 About a half-hour before the game started I found out I didn't have my starting quarterback (Ethan Sylvain). He hurt himself after school and I had to tell Kyle Martel he was going to play quarterback, and he hadn't played in three weeks.

 If we got anything out of playing in the 7 on 7 camps this summer, it was finding a safety to take some heat off (quarterback) Alonzo Foster. We found that Kevin Marshall could play safety.

 What made him was his strength. This was a time players didn't have strength. I remember we were playing the Giants at Forbes Field one time and it was a very close game, and they were moving the ball. He sacked the quarterback three times in a row.

 I'm glad he made that decision if he didn't feel good about (the play), ... I thought we might get the first down and take it down even farther. But the quarterback has the ball in his hands. He makes those final decisions about throwing it. When he told me that I said, 'I'm not going to argue with that.'

 The point I've made very clear to him, and I made very clear to you: You will not play quarterback or any other position that possesses the ball for me. You have to take care of the ball because it's the difference between winning games in this league.

 It wasn't a good call, because I hit the quarterback as soon as he released the ball. We didn't let it get to us and made sure we communicated with one another and made sure to fill the right holes and not allow them in the end zone.

 They played a lot better than we did. You can't take anything away from them; their quarterback threw the ball well and made a lot of big plays. We just didn't execute. We didn't even make a game of it.

 The quickest way to stop an offense is to get to the quarterback. You can play better in coverage when you can make sure the quarterback is unsettled. We didn't do as good a job in it last time. So that's the task at hand.

 There were opportunities. It wasn't like we just didn't get any pass rush. He just made plays. Ben is a good quarterback. He found the openings.

 I guess it's just having time to play with each other and learning each other, just finding out how he wants to play and vice versa. He told me coming into the season that he wasn't doing his job if I didn't average four or five more points than I had been, and he was right because I am. ... We work together. We find out what plays we want to run. When we call plays for him, he tells me things he can do to get me an easy basket. And when a play is called for me, I let him know, if they take certain things away from me, what I can get for him. So it's just having some chemistry, being together and having a coach that understands that both of us need the ball and understands how both of us want to play.
