 Creating a SID is a long and complex process, and the most difficult step is getting super-majority approval from property owners to assess themselves for common services. It's essentially a self-tax.

 Approximately 26 percent of the surrounding property owners within 200 feet of the property have officially registered opposition to the request. Because of this, a super majority vote (six of seven council members) is needed to approve the requested zoning change.

 For such a complex deal involving so many owners, we didn't have any cases of imminent domain. But it was a long process.

 Essentially, the BID creates a budget and asks the municipal council to collect an assessment from commercial property owners. The municipal government doesn't have the authority to dictate what the budget is, all they do is make sure everything is legal and then collect the assessment from property owners that is asked for.

 Homeowners often rely on generalized information they get piecemeal from various sources, sometimes getting lost in the deluge of information maybe because they find it difficult to objectively assess loan suitability or because life's hectic pace leaves little time to sift, sort, or screen all relevant data. We're showing them that for the cost of a typical appraisal or property inspection, there's a better way. We believe that independent personalized mortgage advice and representation are services that are long overdue.

 It really isn't appropriate for me to comment on this application before any of the decision makers have even considered it. The approval process is political and complicated and there is a very long way to go. That said, the proposed museum is a priceless gift to the community in a location supported by the community. If the plan can weave its way through the approval process intact, I would call it a dream come true for all of us.

 This type of project … raises many questions about responsibility. The first step in the design process will be to work with the affected property owners (in this area all are residential properties) and recommend policies and procedures to address these questions.

 (There are) no construction-related issues with the surrounding property owners and the super Wal-Mart development, so we think it's going fairly well.

 Public access is now a hot political issue. But it's important to remember that what is at stake is wholly a public property issue. Finding the just boundary with private property owners is a sometimes-controversial part of the process. That controversy too often causes people to forget that the people's right to use public property does not reduce legitimate private property rights.

 It's a little difficult with so many property owners involved.

 The public input is essential to the overall process. I won't say that the charter is strengthened by this process but it is a very positive step to have the charter reviewed and essentially clarified where needed, or amended as needed. The process of reviewing the charter should be viewed as a positive step overall.

 Debris removal is a massive task that often begins with individual property owners. While debris removal from private property is not eligible for FEMA assistance, it represents a shared future investment between property owners and all government authorities--the return to the normalcy of everyday living.

 We think it is in the best interests of the property owners, of the city and the entire community to continue dialogue with the property owners in an attempt to achieve resolution, as opposed to exercising eminent domain, ... We defer to a date not yet certain.

 I'm very sad to say that as it currently stands that this bill is a step back for the majority of the surface owners.

 All the property owners met with me last Thursday. The property owners might want to sell so we could consolidate to the corner.
