 After Amelie was such a huge success that, strangely, I didn't want to do a movie which could be a huge success. I wanted to go and to do something smaller and more discreet.

 Reinforcing their traditional businesses -- regional jets and corporate jets -- makes a lot of sense. It's familiar turf, they know the customers, and there's much less risk than trying to attack a market that's got two entrenched competitors.

 My original reaction to 'cheaper, faster, better' is that two out of three ain't bad. Pick the two of those three that you want, because you can't have all three.

 The upside is that high-definition is a lot cheaper and a lot faster.
