 We ... want to resolve the dispute over the dismissed workers; however, that will not include the reinstatement of those who instigated and incited the walkout action and who harassed and intimidated those employees who chose to come to work during this difficult time.

 What I think is going to happen is that tests in relation to reasonable management action taken in a reasonable way is going to be blurred with those concepts of procedural fairness and what you're going to find is the QIRC considering appeals against decisions to grant workers compensation to dismissed employees where the employee was denied procedural fairness.

It is not for me to try and resolve this dispute myself. What I am trying to get across, however, is that the only way of resolving it in the end is going to be political dialogue.  While we understand the sentiment behind the May 1 events and support comprehensive immigration reform, we are not encouraging workers to participate in the rallies. We are asking workers not to take any unauthorized time off and instead seek pre-approval from their supervisor or participate during non-work hours.  We've decided to take stern disciplinary action against the strikers for taking part in the illegal walkout, to end the collective action.

 Prime Minister Mori's comment has made it all the more difficult for the two governments to resolve the dispute.

 As organizations seek to attract and retain older workers, they must be careful not to lump all 'older workers' into the same category - it's important to differentiate the work experiences and motivations of these employees. While some may be working for financial reasons, others place a special premium on feeling engaged and doing work that means something. Recruiting and retaining older workers requires careful consideration of job design, work environment, and creating new and challenging opportunities.

 Some adults feel intimidated by school, intimidated by the teacher, intimidated by the kind of homework their children are bringing home. It makes it difficult to be a part of things if you don't have the skills you need.

 Safe workers are productive workers, better ensuring system reliability. Safety practices include not only attention to the personal safety of employees, but attention to the safe operation of the system. One of our primary goals is customer service excellence. Keeping employees safe and keeping our system safe enhance the service experience for our customers.

 We've been talking to the city and state about our strategies and how we can work together. The center we have was built in the 1950s, and we're looking forward to the kind of work we will be doing in the 21st century, which will include some testing, but will be more analytical and require a different skills set. We want to be able to attract the best (employees), but that is hard work.

 While our companies will continue to compete, I'm pleased that we've been able to resolve our prior dispute, and I'm excited about the opportunity to work together collaboratively to make the digital decade a reality,
