We expect strong openings gezegde

 We expect strong openings across Europe this morning - the bulk of the U.S. gains we saw yesterday were posted after the European markets had closed.

 Weaker openings are expected across Europe this morning, Friday's sell-off in the U.S. happened in earnest towards the end of their trading day which to an extent protected the European cash markets (as they had already closed). Their negative reaction is anticipated this morning.

 The markets are hanging on nicely, considering the massive gains yesterday, ... Clearly, if the market can hold onto its gains from yesterday, and through the weak durable goods report today, the path of least resistance is upside.

 Our international gains were very, very strong this quarter as we expect that, of course, to continue. Europe is doing extremely well for us, much larger offices in the United Kingdom, France and Germany.

 Now, having a strong, permanent presence across Europe will allow us to serve our clients' needs even more effectively and of course we expect to service the global needs of European customers in the future.

 The European markets rebounded from earlier today, but a lot of uncertainty remains in the markets. First there's the political backdrop. Secondly, with regard to the U.S. data on Friday, we had U.S. labor figures which weren't too encouraging. But markets across Europe have made considerable headway since Sept. 11. There's a degree of profit-taking going on.

 Germany had a balancing function not only in European politics but in the European Union, between Britain and France, between Western Europe and Eastern Europe, and between Europe and the United States.

 All M&A news is strong support for the stock market. European shares remain attractive. Productivity gains will allow European companies to have good earnings in 2006.

 We opened the day stronger and continued a little higher, and then as a slight surprise to some, ended up holding the positive tone throughout the day - whereas sometimes on days like this in the past you've given up the bulk of those gains. Silver, specifically, closed relatively close to the highs.

 Excellence needs flagships—that's why Europe must have a strong European Institute of Technology (EIT), bringing together the best brains and companies, and disseminating the results throughout Europe.
