 There's no such thing as a large software project that's perfect.

 Neither traditional ERP applications nor project planning software is designed to meet these needs. Making low-volume prototypes and managing a complex array of suppliers, designers, and marketing initiatives requires software that can link all these activities together within a project planning framework.

 It's a very large software system. It's a huge project. Our hope is that by the summer of 2006, we'll have it in place. We have been limited in the past from offering service upgrades or refundable tickets or multiple changes without fees.

 We've partnered with Babcock and Brown, which is a large energy-oriented investment bank, and they will both be helping up with arranging financing for the construction and long-term for the project. They also have access to a fairly large number of turbines for the project.

 Is it a perfect project? Show me one that is. Is it expensive? You bet, but sometimes doing the right thing involves sacrifice.

 Project and portfolio management is critical as development is increasingly distributed, as organizations adopt service oriented architectures, and as audits require evidence of regulatory compliance. With IBM's new project and portfolio management software, organizations can more effectively govern their software and systems development projects.

 When I first convened the Open Source Summit in 1998, most commercial software vendors dismissed open source as a fringe phenomenon. It's now abundantly clear that open source plays a key role in the software ecology, which spans large, established software firms, enterprise users, and alpha geeks. Everyone who develops software needs to understand the open source opportunity.

 If a large company were to obtain thousands of software patents every year, the barrier to entry of new software companies could become insurmountable.

 The project will use state-of-the-art technology on both the hardware and software side. The sheer size and scope makes this project physically complex and technically challenging.

 She is a lead character who is flawed. She's not always nice. She doesn't always say the perfect thing. She is somebody, in a very large sense, without a home, without a family, without ties, without (anyone) when you first met her.

 There are already Chinese software companies, operating in China; they are fast learners ... If there will be a large software company emerging in Asia, it is likely to emerge in China first.

 The good news for enterprises is that, in many cases, a deal could mean that a mature support organization will be available for the project. But some of these deals will be bad if the software company is simply buying out a potential competitor to get access to the user base or to kill off the project.

 The Mozilla project has always been a project trying to bring together open source developers with commercial software developers and distributors. Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo scene.

 No project is perfect, they all have their drawbacks. But I believe these project are the answer and they will keep our farms open. These projects seem like a fit for our area. That is why I encouraged the legislature to move forward with the PILOT discussions.

 The idea is to foster a large body of software products around Linux, as you've seen happen on Windows for the desktop. The market has been so fragmented, so it never fostered the kind of software industry that you had for the desktop.
