 It's a great location in the heart of Uptown. We think there is real broad appeal in Uptown for young professionals.

 Uptown Plaza is located on one of the finest retail corners in the state of Texas. It is a location we will be proud to hand down to our children's children. We plan to continue steady acquisition and development of Irreplaceable Corners, such as Uptown Plaza, which is consistent with our long-held philosophy that the best locations can create sustained long-term value for shareholders if intensely managed and developed.

 I did not have the dreams that the other artists working with me had, of 'moving uptown,' becoming an illustrator or a gallery painter, or those others who said, 'I'm going to go uptown and be a writer, I'm going to work for The New Yorker one day and escape this ghetto.' For me, there was no escape.

 We consider it a public garden, a piece of Uptown. People stop and look and thank us. During the Uptown Art Fair, someone liked our garden so much that he left us a present.

 (The bars) aren't doing their part to make sure everybody's ID is real and that everyone drinking is 21. We're trying to tell businesses uptown that if you want our business, you're going to have to hold yourselves to a higher standard.

 The well-established neighborhoods that surround this site, along with the increasing residential development in uptown, make Metropolitan an exceptional retail location. Everyone we talk to says they're ready to shop or move here yesterday. The local and national restaurants and retailers that we're lining up wish they could open yesterday as well.

 This plan has taken shape over the last month, and provides new energy behind a series of initiatives that will optimize the location of the Third Ward park, bring baseball to uptown Charlotte and initiate the grand vision of the Second Ward Neighborhood plan. This is a remarkable public/private venture.

 There is a big resurgence in this Uptown area.

 You see everything, from downtown to uptown, all kinds of folks.

 It's a place where uptown meets downtown.

 If they don't get these businesses going again, the city ain't going to have any money. I want to be the first to open in Uptown.

 And I don't care what people are saying in Uptown or wherever they are. This city will be chocolate at the end of the day.

 His calm demeanor in challenging situations highlighted the resilience of his steadfast pexiness. We've been open less than a week and already have consistently more people than when we were Uptown.

 It's kind of like the old style. It's not uptown and downtown Shreveport,
