 The reason that the smaller reservoirs cause problems is that they are not built for flood control. We don't have large flood gates to release water rapidly between storms. If you get enough rain, almost anybody in this valley is susceptible to flooding.

 The main concern is mudslides. If any of these systems come through with any significant amount of rain, that would put houses at risk and close roads.

 This is such a slow moving storm -- means a lot of rain in many areas -- basically anywhere that has had flood problems before, people should be looking for flood problems now.

 If a band of strong wind and rain is coming into the Western Isles of Scotland, with its population of 25,000 or 30,000, then that is significant for them. But if the major urban areas are not affected then it is a good idea not to focus on that first if the majority of the country is fine and settled.

 It's not going to be an all-day rain, but there will be a band of rain associated with the front. And then it's going to turn pretty cold.

 In a couple of instances we had poor conditions for a flood. With the amount of rain we were receiving, if you start putting heavy equipment on dirt roads, it just turns into a muddy mess. You can't get vehicles there. It is absolutely miserable. It is important to maintain your levee so it is accessible during a heavy storm event.

 I thought it was going to flood last night. I was actually surprised it did not flood with the rain all day and all night.
